The YouTube Baby Strikes Back: Judge rules against Prince/Uni

In a victory for small-time music copiers over the entertainment industry, a federal judge ruled that copyright-holders can't order one of their songs removed from the Web without first checking to see if the excerpt was so small that it was legal. The case dates from 2007, when Stephanie Lenz posted a video of her infant son dancing to Prince's "Let's Go Crazy" on YouTube. Universal Music Corp., which owns the rights to the song, ordered YouTube to remove the video and nearly 200 others involving Prince compositions.

Prince fans from far and wide partied together every month for over a decade...and now, sadly, it's coming to an end as Sam & Chad host their final purple party at Berlin nightclub on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008.
