How Does One win the affection of an attractive bartender?

Every girl wants him. He flirts (obviously a good way to make tips), he knows he is cute, but for some reason he pays particular attention to ME because I'm not big on the "throwing myself at him" game. Truth is, I really like him and but keep playing with the idea that he probably looks at me and sees a challenge.

SO my question...is this worth me pursuing and "paying more attention to" and try to win his affection or should I just be casual like always and see if he eventually makes a move?

eh, i dated a bartender for a while. it was kind of a drag. because of his hours, we rarely if ever had cozy sleepovers and he was always in some state of pickledness. perpetual free drinks, though! thumbs up!

I would never want to date a bartender because it seems like it would suck to have people always clawing at him. I think it would make me jealous neutral

I was a bartender- and have dated the hot bartender.....

Thie thing with bartenders is that it is an entire "culture" of after hours- late mornings- and lots of "partying". From a "regular" person stand point, unless you work the same hours- it will be imppossible to keep a relationship going. Are you going to be the annoying girlfriend that goes to the bar EVERYNIGHT???? (I made fun of the girls who TRIED to date my co-bartenders and sat there each night) Can you REALLY trust him at work if you are not there? I guess that is the main question.... The motto at my nightclub (main bartender for 3 years) was always (among staff) date staff- not customers.... that way you don't loose money and they don't stalk you. True he may flirt with you and spend extra attention on you- but the reality of it is this- if you can see him in his NATURAL element- not at the alcohol slinging sweet talking pectoral hunk of manliness behind the bar... you may not like him as much... I don't know any bartenders who are the same person in front of the bar as they are behind the bar- it is like a shield standing behind....
Dating the hot bartender- actually I have done it more than I care to admit- when I worked there and when I was a client.... each and everyone of them was an asshole. Currently I have the HOTTEST bartender trying to take me home each time I am at the bar... I never pay for a drink and his affection is focused on my alllll night- despite the hot tight bodied girls grabbing him each chance they get..... After I would go home with him- chances of it being a mind blowing- earth shattering relationship? slim to none. And do I really want to marry and have children with a bartender? Who will be gone late at night- flirting with women (or men) for tip money? nope.....
Keep it funand flirtatious... if he asks you to hang out outside the bar- and you want to- suggest a daytime date.... not afterhours or dinner.... do a lunch first off!

I have said more than my piece- my next patient is in the waiting room I gotta go cause she pays me! *giggle* maybe I helped?

I'd wear a basque to show off my busty cleavage. I think it would also help if you told a bawdy joke or too. smile

dating people in the service industry when you arent used to their hours and their way of life is VERY difficult. I was agm at a bar resturant for 3 years, I lived the lifestyle, dont expect them to be awake before noon, or have to be somewhere at a certain time when they are 'supposed' to get off of work.

WE stay up really late, have after hours parties, almost every day of the week, and all kinds of raunchiness.

BTW ive settled down now, and work a 8-5 job, and feel like a human being lol

I didn't exactly date a bartender, but I went home with one once when I was in San Francisco. It was pretty easy. I told my friend I thought he was cute (and was he ever!), she was awfully drunk and proceeded to yell across the bar, "hey! She likes you! She thinks you're cute!" I smiled weakly and ran away to the bathroom to hide from the shame. When I returned there was a yummy drink waiting for me and I spent the rest of the night talking to him.
This was about 3-4 years ago but I'm heading back to San Fran in a few weeks for vacation again, and I just may step back into that bar. giggle

Don't stalk your bartender. Frequent the place just enough to remain on his mind. And tip out the wazoo everytime you order a drink from him. At first he'll probabbly start passing you free drinks. But when that doesn't cut it anymore, he may start offering sexual favors. The best night to nail him would be when he's having a bad day, the bar is dead, and you're there till close smile This is all from speculation of course, LOL...

When I bartended, I liked it when girls would stay behind and hang out at the bar for a while. If it wasn't too busy, I'd chat with them if I thought they were cute. Then if we hit it off, I'd give them drink tickets. Then we'd exchange numbers.
