Kissing your kids....

Okay...I have been having an on-going debate with a few individuals about kissing...specifically the level of intimacy in kissing.

Here's the debate... I know may of you fellow parents out ther kiss your children and other family member's on the mouth. You may kiss yours friends..or who knows...the mailman... whateva...the debate between these "other's" and myself comes to whether it is possible to have LEVELS of intimacy in kissing or is EVERY kiss intimate. I say there are levels.

Example..... growing up my grandparents, aunts, parents...they always kissed us kids on the lips...and as a kid I hated it. Now as an adult, those same people try that crap with me and I give them cheek only...just my personal preference.

I am not against parents kissing their kids....or other's for that matter and like I said, there can be and most certainly are levels to intimacy when kissing.

One of the people I have been debating with is a mother...who is adimatly (sp?) opposed to kissing anyone but her spouse on the lips. She believes all kisses on the mouth are intimate and have no place with kids.

The other person in this debate believes it is cool to kiss everyone on the lips...the intimacy is implied where it applies.... confuse

The question to you all is this....in your opinion....when it comes to kissing...are ALL kisses intimate or are there levels to this type of affection?

There are definite levels.
Nothing wrong with kissing children on the lips. My nieces and nephews kiss me on the lips all the time.
What is wrong, is kissing anyone anywhere they are uncomfortable with it. You can generally tell fairly easily what someone's comfort level is.

This debate stemmed from an incident my brother had yesterday.... falloff

A long story, but the jist is this, my brother was delivering some packages in a small town in Minnesota, when he came across our aunt who is a disgusting thang...anyways she promptly puckered up and kissed him on the lips... barf falloff I laughed my ass off...then he joked that he thought she slipped him the tongue.... I swear to you I think I puked in my mouth a little bit... feeling ill Anyways...the debate then insued... falloff

There are levels. As far as the kissing on the mouth with kids, I have four. My two boys are 3 & 1 and I kiss them on the lips. They feel loved when I do. When they are older, I will peck them on the cheek and I think that will feel more appropriate to them. My girls are 9 & 11 and rarely do I kiss them on the lips. I think it would make them uncomfortable, especially if it was in PUBLIC! My Mother works with me and she tried to plant one on me in the cafeteria and I almost ran! Age has a lot to do with it when it comes to our kids. wink

well.... i have always kissed my babies on the lips. however, my son is going to be 11 years old this year, and only recently, though i love my boy to death, it is feeling a bit strange to kiss him on the lips. hes getting older, and i know at some point this has to change... my mom certainly doesnt walk around kissing her grown children shake its just that he has always been my baby, and im not sure when you look at your baby as a grown-up shrug im gonna go with how it feels.... and its not feeling right, so, this will for sure be our last year with kisses on the lips sigh its really just another sign that my children are getting older.... bawl

HOWEVER, that being said, i will NEVER stop kissing my babies no no no! they will have to learn to live with kisses from momma on the cheek, forehead, top of the head, whereever i can get them lol cuz, momma's a kisser shrug what can i say ???

BUT, as far as other people go.... im not interested in getting kisses from anyone else no no no! unless youre a man that im intimate with (then i LOVE kissing !!!). other than that, my standard greeting is a hug, im super big on those nod

so, here... heres one for everyone hug

After i came out, my mom wouldn't let me kiss her on the lips anymore. I don't know what she thinks i could be doing with my mouth. I mean, she's been sucking my stepdad's dick for years, and when i'd go to kiss her on the lips, she was never like "naw baby, on the cheeks, on the cheeks." But whatever. Now i don't kiss her at all cuz she's a bitch.

there are levels. Sounds to me like your friends are trying to sexualize kissing in general. I kiss family and friends on the mouth all the time. It would be a completely different story if I dipped my cousin over and started french kissing. That isn't what happens tho. Your friends need to get their minds out of the gutter mad
