Beautiful English Words

Since English is not my first language I probably look at it a bit differently than a native speaker does. Sometimes I see beauty in words that have ugly meanings and vice versa.

Quite often I fall in love with certain words to the degree that I start trying to squeeze them into sentences where they don´t really belong. It´s not like I say "the weather is very cunnilingus today" or anything, but sometimes I might say something like "you have an incredulous and undulating look on your face". The reactions I get are usually mad (who the fuck is this person trying to sound like? Fucking Shakespeare or something? Nerd!) or omg (Whoa! Did the dictionary just speak?). Needless to say I try to avoid creating these reactions. But sometimes I just can´t help myself.

Anyway, here are some English words that i love (from the top of my head). It´s mostly the way they sound that I love, but in some cases it´s also their meaning:

hound
audacious
succulent
irreversible
ferocious
fathom
poignant
illicit
benign
rickety
scathe
rummage
unleash
scintillating
catharsis
incinerate
bequeath
volatile
insolence
rigid
dastardly
colloquial
subtlety
voluptuos

More additions to the list, anyone? (I can already see "beer", "babes", "me" being added rolleyes)

Actually "wanker" does have a nice ring to it. The first time somebody calls me wanker I´m just going to smile. Then they´ll probably call me "stupid fucking wanker" or some other beautiful thing. lol

Seriuosly, a lot of dirty words actually sound beautiful if U don't know what they mean. Take 'Vulva', it just slips off the tongue. redface

...the blood-curdling hounds of the boiling netherworld rush against their own unsavoury master...

...or something. I don´t know, it just has a cool, pretentious and old-fashioned ring to it.

That, on the other hand,...eh...doesn´t. Or maybe it does? "You Gotthard-minded idiot!" "Today is so Gotthard that I think I´ll stay in bed" "No, I´m not gonna show you my Gotthard!"
