What I want to know is, racial slurs aside, how boring is he actually as a stand up comic? I don't think he'll have to worry about that anymore.

Man...and he probably has black friends too...but, sometimes, some white people use that nastiness, as a last resort at times, when they get really pissed off at a black person.

That sad thing is a few in the crowd were actually laughing up until a certain point. You could see the dynamic changing as the guy was saying "that's uncalled for", but just before that people were actually laughing. CHILDREN OF THE IMAGO MIND. ok ok -- Imago is out of posts.

There are plenty of white folks who get a delightful fucking tickle out of shit like this, because it's something they want to say deep down inside. I'm not shocked that people were laughing. Disgusted, but not shocked.

Disgusted, but not shocked. yup. I don't even think it's deep down inside. I think alot of them want to say it pretty damned close to the surface. I see folks walking around all the time with these rebel flag stickers on their car or on their belt buckle, and I'm pretty sure they're only a couple of beers away from that kind of tirade. I wonder how white folks feel about when minority comedians single them out for teasing. I mean, Margaret Cho complains alot about their misunderstandings of Asians, etc. etc. Of course, she's not calling them h@nky's or anything like that though. I had a good giggle when I went to see Jimmy Carr and he was having some banter with this chav girl and her bf and she flipped the bird in that cowardly scratching your face trying to be sly kinda way and she said "move on", to which he replied, in his pompous Oxford (or Cambridge?) educated smart-ass way, "Look, it's not every day I get to talk to slag".

You have every privilege in this society; try crying about Richard Pryor calling your ass a cracker and I will be forced to pull your ignorant fucking card.

You have every privilege in this society; try crying about Richard Pryor calling your ass a cracker and I will be forced to pull your ignorant fucking card. Yeah. I was actually disgusted to death last nite, by these scum bags next to us in the chinese restuarant. It was this guy with his parents (I'm guessing) He had to be in his 40's. Well anyways, I hear him telling his parents a story about "An ignorant uneducated southern fellow" who was pronouncing Achilles Tendon, A-Kill-eez tendon. The guy was totally making fun of the fact that the guy couldn't pronounce the word. Then he goes, "some people are just happy in their own ignorance". And I'm thinking, you ASS! To make fun of the dude, and call him uneducated and southern, when you should SEE where we live. But THEN, he started totally making "jokes" to his parents that were racist, and I was like are you SEROIUS????? He's calling some poor guy ignorant cuz he can't pronounce a word, and your sitting there being TOTALLY ignorant. And his parents were laughing yet. It was DISGUSTING!

I'd dislike that as much as I dislike this. I'm not saying you have to like it; I just get irritated when some white people act as if it is equal when it isn't. A white person using racial slurs against a person of color happens in the context of 1. that white person being in a position of power and privilege which is not available to that person of color, and 2. years and years of very real, (government-sanctioned, no less!) violence, horror and murder that went hand in hand with those words. A person of color using slurs toward a white person carries none of that. Doesn't make it nice or comfortable to hear, but it simply is not the same thing.

He was being an ass at first, probably because the comic was boring, but then i think that "no ones seen your movies" thing got to him and he kept going. I laughed.
