I do not think being an atheist has anything to do with one's unhappiness.

But to answer your questions, one of my best friends is a blissfully happy atheist. She is happy because she is just a fun person. She enjoys life, and really isn't worried so much in the afterlife.

Come to think, of all the self-professed atheists and agnostics I know well enough to speak on, only one is a grumpy fella.

Sometimes I'm happy, sometimes not, just like almost everyone I suppose.

I can assure you that any moments of unhappiness have nothing to do with my lack of belief in an invisible, judgmental and maniacally egotistical bearded guy sitting atop the clouds.
