palin:" The war in iraq is our will of god "

Speaking before the Pentecostal church, Palin painted the current war in Iraq as a messianic affair in which the United States could act out the will of the Lord.

"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God," she exhorted the congregants. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan."

Religion, however, was not strictly a thread in Palin's foreign policy. It was part of her energy proposals as well. Just prior to discussing Iraq, Alaska's governor asked the audience to pray for another matter -- a $30 billion national gas pipeline project that she wanted built in the state. "I think God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she said.

This is fanatical. There is a reason we need a separation of Church and State because people like Sarah Palin and George W. Bush believe they are on a mission from God.

Why don't the Dems bring this up?

At one point, the Dems need to take a stand against this "trend."

This is insane.

they will, after the convention. it's common courtesy to lay low during your opponent's big event.

(shouldn't that be "lie low"? confuse ) anyway... lol

I second that, especially with that statement she made below.

See my signature for what we have to look forward to in the debate.

Someone is going to write her speech tonight which the Republicans are going to imply (but never quite say) it her "voice", "her message" that is being relayed to us.
They really have a low view of voters. I was watching a Republican women's forum on C-Span after the convention and they sounded as if simply by saying talking points over and over that they would make sense.
It was such a condescending view of voters, I can't believe people still vote Republican.

Meanwhile, civic knowledge is enhanced by discussing public affairs, taking part in civic activities and reading about current events and history, the group said.

Which is why we have P & R!
