It's kind of a funny point to make too. For one thing, it hits the Republicans where they live: Jesus. They are all Jesus all the time, so that's gotta piss 'em off that they didn't think about it before they started mouthing off.

And for another thing, it drives them absolutely batshit crazy when Obama supporters talk about Jesus because they think we worship him or something. So comparing the work of Jesus and Obama is sure to drive them right up the wall. And that's just good fun.

Meanwhile, civic knowledge is enhanced by discussing public affairs, taking part in civic activities and reading about current events and history, the group said.

You're right. Its not an actual petition in thetrue sense of the word, but it is an effort to draw attention to Palin's remarks. The more comments, the more media attention.

To assert that a community organizer in modern politics and servanthood the that Jesus taught and lived are intrensic is ambitious and likely naive.

I'm sure community organizers do good things, but I am not sure I have enough faith in Barack Obama to believe that for one minute he did it for anything but his own career.
