So what City is going to be the First Place NOT to Sell Out?

To my knowledge Prince so far has sold out EVERY Concert! Correct???

Who is going to ruin this streak eek sad wink

I am going to the Cleveland Show & all the way up to 2 days ago I heard on the Radio a commcerical for Prince's Concert?

Has it sold out yet?? I HOPE so because I dont want my hometown to the only place not to eek any info if Prince has sold out in Cleveland & also if I am correct about him selling out every arena so far on this tour.

I'm almost positive that Indianapolis didn't sell out. There were annoucements before the show about tickets still being available for purchase at the box office, and I saw many empty seats in the balcony level.
Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position.

Oklahoma didn't sell out either. I don't even know if the people that worked at the Ford Center knew who he was. smile

Ames did NOT sell out last week. In fact they were giving away tickets for free to students at Iowa State (the venue is on campus). Also I have not read anything about the Omaha show in the write-ups about it selling out. I was at both shows and saw many empty seats up in the rafters.

However this does not matter much. I don't think the tour is designed to sell out everywhere. He's playing the biggest places possible so he can sell the most tickets possible and he is doing that. No sense playing a 5,000 seater if you can sell 10,000 tickets. So they are playing 12,000-14,000 seaters. At least they know no one is going away not able to get a ticket. They are getting all the revenue they can in each market!

I think about 5 shows didnt sell out!

But he's got even more that did sell out!

SO WHAT! IT HAPPENS, Not all artist(s) will sell out arena's BIG DEAL!

He's still grossed more than many already on the road, including Britney lip synching Spears...whom is in the Top 10 and all over MTV/VH1 and Pop radio stations across the globe...so that should tell ya that PRINCE is still the man!

WHO CARES about not selling out a 20,000 seater when you've sold out Madison Square Gardens 3 x, L.A. 5 X and Chicago 2 x!

Not to mention DETROIT in less that 20 minutes, TIX were gone!
Who cares!

4 of the 5 L.A. (Staples Center) sold out. The 6/3 show still has tickets, but only upper concourse seats (read "nose bleed"). Considering this show is like 6 weeks off, it probably will sell out. All in all, very impressive considering some didn't think he could sell out 1 night at the Staples center.

There were a few empty seats in the corners of the upper deck in Pittsburgh, too. Still, he's drawing pretty impressive crowds everywhere!

I live in Durham, NC and I heard the first radio ad for the 4/23/04 show this week. Said tickets were still available - just upper level left, though. His concerts never really get promoted here. I didn't see any concerts in the 1990's because I didnt know when he was coming to the area. With the exception of Atlanta, I don't think he gets much promotion in the South of DC.

I agree. I'll be seeing him in Raleigh and i don't think that will be sold out. When i saw him in 1988 in Hampton, Va I KNOW that place wasn't sold out.

If it doesn't sell out it's because the only thing left are nose bleeds, if it's not sold through a broker. Lord knows I've looked.

Plus the ticket brokers are going crazy with prices, so those seat have to be available unless you've got plenty of money and are really desparate. (I'm almost at that point, but I'm holding out)

When he played Avery Fischer Hall (NY) during the ONA Tours, there were tickets going for $1000 each.

But with most of us going to more than one concert, I think they'll still be some empty seats left in good locations.

falloff I live here, but you are right! State College is in the boonies. I bet that's why they call it Happy Valley, eh? Lowest crime rate in central Pa. Good thing about State College though is that the university has over 60 thousand students in attendance Fall and Spring semesters...(main campus) pretty good place to play, I'd say. I bet they aren't even close to being sold out. I hope he doesn't cancel the show because of it. sad There aren't too many cool people here. It's a very concervative area.

There's no point in Prince playing arenas in these area in the future. This translates into "NO LOVE"- very weak fan base in this area.....

just heard on the radio that the ticket sales to the show in State College are only at about 1/2 way to it's capacity. The Bryce Jordan Center also announced that they are opening floor level seats to the discounted ticket sales (the 29.00 ones) and that it will probably not have another headliner here since sales have been so low.

sad

I will have a great time anyway! I don't need lots of people there and Prince has had large crowds with near sell-outs mostly everywhere else, so hopefully he won't cancel. pray

You crack my shit up, Rupert!! I love it!! smile

All I know is that Gund Arena in Cleveland was full to the fucking rafters tonight (last night?), and every last one of us motherfuckers was bangin' our heads on the one!

I just came back from the Cleveland Show & I'd say it was 99% sold out. A few seats at the very top were not sold.

They won't sell out but if the Arena keeps selling blocks at bulk to contest giveaways he might start filling all those empties
