renew my membership now?

(sorry for my awful english…)
Not my language.

My membership just expired.
I think i am not the only one, remember October 2001.
I emailed NPGMC:
"I,
My membership just expired.
A question.
I've paid for 8 months of 2002 NPGMC's edition.
I just received one disc…
There is a BIG problem!"

Response:
"Hello
U would b able 2 renew 4 a reduced rate."

New email:
"Thank you for your response.
Yes, but tell me i will not pay 40$ for a 3 CD Box, available in the stores for 25$."

Response:
"We have no in4mation on any release dates or retail prices."

Last email (no response at this moment):
"So if i don't renew, i did not have anything else?
3 month of downloads and ONE CD for 100 dollars?
8 months of 2002 NPGMC's edition, more than 50$ for ONE CD?
A joke?
You quite oblige us to reniew!"

My question. What do i do?
Renew or not?

You raise a good question. It's a horrible situation to be in and I guess there was always going to be this type of issue. The answer is you choose to renew (or not as the case may be) based on your knowledge of what to expect for the money you put down. The fact that the NPGMC are suggesting you renew without confirming what you will get for it is disgraceful and by the way, not disimilar from the situation we all face. So, in that regard, do not renew. You're only going to set yourself up.

If a 3CD ONA Tour becomes available in stores it will likely be more than $25 as most single CD's are about $15-$20 or more.
Double CD's are running about $24 and triple CD's about $35-$50 depending on the artist and album.
The 3CD Emancipation went for $33 near me, and the 'Hits' CD goes for about $50.

It's up to you, but you'll likely get it early thru the club earlier, but for more money.

You're right, but that Emancipation case has a hole clipped into it-as its been relegated to the bargain bins. Originally they sold for about $33, which was a discount for a 3 CD set. Thanks for the update nonetheless CS.

Well, the NPGMC has given me a splitting headache! I joined last oct.for a year, membership would have been up in oct.2001 and was told in march 2002 my membership was up in the first part of March! All i was able to recive for the whole 2002 year was a few downloads! I was so bummed i cried. I sent many e-mails, all the responses were the same, nothing we can do, renew now! I sent at least 10 e-mails and they just quit responding. I saved all my mail 2 them and all responses. So yes i was ripped by the man i have been dedicated 2 for , many, many years!I was going 2 renew this year , but after reading about all the trouble everyone is having, NOT!!! I am such a true fam, and have never downloaded a bootleg, but it seems thats the only way 2 get his music these days! P if by chance u read this, get the NPGMC shit 2gather PLEASE! Annastasa

I don't think the npgmc is perfect by any means, but i do remember them telling people that if they joined in late 2001--they would have access to all the 2001 downloads, so they would have to rejoin in Spring of 2002 to be part of their new format of sending out CD's.
My roommate did the same thing, and he was told he had to renew his membership in June 2002 if he wanted tix to the Celebration.

(Sorry for my awful English …again)

I had a response:
"Ur membership will not continue unless u renew. If u renew now at a reduced rate, it will xpire at the end of 2002 and u will get the remaining CDs 4 2002."

At my opinion, there is something really wrong.
How many people join NPGMC last October?
Rainbow Children was a really good reason…
I am sure i am NOT the only one.

Year 2002 (at least 4 CD),
ONE album before october (8 month), nothing else.
let's wait until the end of their "membership"(Let us not spend too much )…
And you know what? The remaining CD's, IF you renew.

Parano?

May be, may be not!

this is PROBABLY 1 of the MAIN reasons i would LOVE 2 work @ The NPGMC. eye'd do it 4 FREE & work somewhere else so eye could take care of myself & my Family. 1 day soon my Family & eye will b movin' 2 Minneapolis & if eye could ever persuade Prince & or The NPGMC 2 have me 2 work 4 em "4 FREE" eye'd keep this situation from happenin'.

that my No# 1 Goal!
Peace ... & Stay Funky ...
