Another new Bumper track!

This is our latest effort, it's called "What's Your Name...". It's a bit more dance-orientated than our other tracks, I'm very curious if you will like this one. I want some honest feedback please! wink

I like it!!

There's a section toward the end - around 4:30 - where the guitar and synth chords come in - that would sound GREAT happening earlier as a CHORUS!

You have a great sense of weaving patterns together - so structuring songs to have definite SECTIONS I'm sure you'd be great at!!

Love!

You might be right, SW! Maybe we'll try to fit that part into the song earlier as well. I'm glad you like it though...

The kickdrum is 909 I think, and the rest I don't know anymore. The fx on the snare is a flanger. We use a Roland Juno 106 and a Nordlead synth.

No,that's the Nordelectro I took the pic of.
Playing live I often use the Nordelectro 4 the clav/piano/rhodes/organ sounds
& above it I use the Nordlead.

Man, I'm GROOVIN on this track! I love it. The baseline reminds me of that White Horse song. I like the vocals, who is that? Great, funky track.

Funny that VinaBlue said that! My wife just walked by the computer and started singin' "White Horse" while your track was bumpin!!! biggrin

It still has a life of its own though, and I love that raunchy-ass synth bass!!!

Thansk Vina and Sinned7, I take the comparison with White Horse as a great compliment! Although I don't really hear it myself, I think our track Tuff2 sounds more like White Horse.

Holy crap this is sweet.

Did you ever hear of a song called "Din Da Da"? I'm reminded of this somehow. Dunno why. Glad I checked this out. MAN you two are awesome. Where's the Bumper web site? Where's the Bumper video and the Bumper CD? I'd settle for the 5-song EP!

I'm going to go ahead and make the video for this song. No no, don't thank me.

It's like a slower bumper tune, I guess that makes it dance?

I don't care whether you're making this music with a tin can and a stick, this is FUNKY!

Who's that on vocals? If I had one suggestion to make this betta, it would be to re-do the vocals after a large coffee or some Jolt cola. It needs more energy, especially with a dance tune.

I'm no expert, just going by how it feels and I love the tune. Thanks for posting it.

Thanks Otan, I'm glad u like it! Never heard of "Din Da Da" though, but I'll try to download somewhere. Anytime soon our first 12" will be released, and we hope to follow it up with other releases. For now our Soundclick site will do, but maybe I will try creating a cool website for Bumper this winter.

And if you feel like making a cool video to this latest track of ours, feel free to do so. This would be much appreciated, I'd like to see how you translate this into a video!

Thanks, we were a little worried that the track wasn't up to our other stuff, but all these positive remarks make me feel more confident about it.

BTW, does anyone thinks the arrangement is too sparse/ minimal?

Actually it's not slower concerning the BPM, it's just that the arrangement of the beat especially is very sparse. What I meant with "dance" was that it is not like a typical funk track, but is more related to modern dance music (house, electro clash etc.)

Thanks man, the funk is our purpose!

Actually this track is a remix we did for a track from a friend of ours. The guy who sings is a friend of him, and is one of the elements we kept from the original. And actually I kinda like the way he does the vocals, in this a little bit bored way.
