While DJDredd would like to use his past affliation with LoveSexyDC to promote his event on Sunday, May 28.

Please note that DJDredd is in no way currently affiliated with our group.

IN FACT, we are holding our monthly Prince party that same night at Chief Ike's Mambo Room in Adams-Morgan. The featured DJ is UrbanEckoz's DJ MDot.

We are over 700 members strong and have been meeting monthly since March 1994. We have hosted over 100 events, some with professional DJs (such as Dominic Redd) and some without. Our party this weekend is a celebration of his new album, 3121.

We are a not-for-profit organization. Any proceeds we make going directly towards the group expenses or are donated to Prince's Love4OneAnother charity.

Our event this Sunday night is FREE to our members and membership is free just by signing up for our online group list serv. For more about us and for details on our event, please visit http://www.lovesexydc.org/.

Wow! Thanks to whichever longtime LoveSexyDC member posted this and to SC for alerting me to it.

Anyway, if folks want to go to both parties or just one of them or to neither - that is cool with me. Like Coke and Pepsi, people are free to choose and indulge their own tastes.

However, the DC-area fams should be fully aware who is the host of each party and I sincerely hope there has been no deliberate intent to mislead or cause confusion between the events. If that is the case, than that is most definitely not cool.

Peace & Be Wild,
- KJ

how have i tried to use lovesexy dc to promote my party? i don't know what you are refering to but you are way off base. if you look at any of my promotions i have not mentioned lovesexy dc anywhere. i dont need to try and promote under the guise of lovesexy dc. i am a well known dj in the city and have played at almost every venue in dc. for you to think that anyone comes to any gig that i have now or in the past because of lsdc is absurd. actually if you or kathy look back at the parties at modern (mainly the raffle slips) you would notice that most of the responses that were turned in were not from the lovesexy dc camp. all of this is so petty. i will forever be linked to lsdc and vice versa. (especially in the press) i don't know what lsdc was doing prior to 2000, but it obviously didn't get that much attention in the press. when i approached kathy in 2000 and told her i wanted to start a dance party lsdc was not doing any dance party at that time. for you all to think that every prince fan in dc/md/va is a member of lsdc is laughable. the irony is that when kathy started doing the party after i wanted to take a break to open my restaurant people went thinking i was the dj!! i had to send kathy an email asking her to please let people know that i am not the dj because people were emailing me telling they went to the party and it was not the same. so please get over it. it is not that deep. i have love for lsdc and for kathy's dedication. it is not about any fan clubs or email lists for me. it has always been about the music. right?

oh yeah...just occured to me.....why the hell are you in a thread that i posted about MY party that has absolutely nothing to do with lovesexy dc PROMOTING a lovesexy dc party? maybe i should post a disclaimer in kathy's thread letting everyone know that i am not the dj for the lsdc party at chief ikes since there is no mention of a dj in kathy's promotion. (hmm..wonder why?) hell the post wrote about both of the parties and even they mentioned that they didn't know who was spinning for the lsdc party. you cats should really check yourselves, grow up and keep your negativity and bs amongst yourselves. please squash this.
