All too true girl. You know I did my rounds with this as well, but it keeps getting sadder all the time. Racist actions and flames are excused as NOT BEING A VIOLATION OF THE RULES, according to Sosgemini who's a moderator of P&R. I brought up a problem with Heavenly/MrSoundman leaving the site a while back due to being the victim of racism and being laughed at by Sosgemini when reporting the racist posts. When I called Sosgemini out on it, I was told that the rules had been changed AFTER that event. Since when was racism ever allowed? It's not even legal.

As for EWM, he's here cos 1.People are scared of him and 2.He'd only come back under another account and start all over. A clear case of "better the devil you know".

Ban EWM, he's done much worse than other members who were banned.

I've dealt with racism here more than once. I don't want to point fingers, because I also don't keep track, and with multiple accounts, you do not always know who you're dealing with (guilty for doing this too, but never used other accounts to attack others).

Racism is with the person, and those people cannot change, it's part of who they are. They can be basically good people, but with twisted minds in some areas.

I've learned my lesson and I do not go and post on P&R forum, even though I sometimes check to see if things have changed, and they did not.

I've constantly been attacked for being an Israeli. no one knows or cares about where I stand in all of this Middle East situation. Once they know I'm an Israeli, they attack me.
Only name that comes to mind, is one that used to attack me each and every day in the chat room (Bill) who seems to be gone now, or hiding under another name. Everyone took him lightly, because he wasn't attacking them, and he was nicer to some people. But since he knew I was from Israel, it was a constant attack on me. calling me a murderor and all kinds of accusations.

Growing thick skin is not the answer. I do have a thick skin, because otherwise I'd be attacking back at every opportunity I've had. But I do not come here to fight. I come here to enjoy the friendly people. That's why I stay away from P&R.

Peace to all thumbs up!

revisionist history is always interesting...there is *no* truth to any of what your posting.....to claim someone is laughing at you when your not even physically with the person is obsurd....

and you never reported a racist thread...you referenced a situation (in this forum) that occured years before i had even become a moderator.....for you to make up a story that fits your personal agenda is very telling...

and i never...wait, let me say this again: "NEVER" excused racism on this forum. What I said was that I cant change what happened in the past but that the new rules and new moderators on this site would try their hardest to prevent these types of incidents again...

once again people, if your so fuckin offended by comments "report to moderator".....we dont see all...we arent gods...fuck, we dont even get paid...yet you all expect us to create an enviroment thats free of the realities that we face in this world?

No, this happened while you were a moderator.
I posted a reply in one of the threads that was criticizing Israel, and you laughed at my post and called it stupid.
Everything I said in that post was a serious reply with much thought and personal experience.
If you didn't agree with my opinions you could have replied with at least some respect to them, especially if you are a moderator. Even though you're not getting paid for it, and I do appreciate the time you put into moderating, you still need to show some respect and manners, or else people will say "if he's a moderator and can act like that to other members, why can't I?".

I'm back now, after a few months of leave, because I still have friends in other forums, and also because this is something I have decided to put behind me. Only mentioning it because it was brought up.

My statement wasn’t addressing your situation.....I do vaguely recall that post....but I have every right to participate in discussions..(not as a moderator but as a visitor just like everyone else)....if I remember correctly I said it was stupid to call people out as anti-semite for having pro-Palestine views or for thinking Israeli needs to take some responsibility for their own actions.....

people pull the anti-semite card out way to fast around here.....and my responce was more about my own frustration with the topic then about you....

How is Heavenly responsible for what his government does? That's what people are insinuating by attacking him just for being an Israeli, that it somehow is his fault. What can he do, being a regular Joe? Saying he should take his responsibility for the world is like saying americans should repent for electing Bush rolleyes

what in the world are you going on about? this has nothing to do with what people think about Israeli and everything to do with calling someone an anti-semite for simply disagreeing with a government's policies....

I agree with that and the problem seems to be that the moderator who deactivated PEJ is one who is never around anyway, Matt.

I think this is post number 2,889 (or 2,873--different parts of the site give a different post count) for me, which is pretty impressive for someone who is "never around." wink

Seriously, on average, I log onto this site three times per day. The first thing I do is access the Moderator Portal and perform the following tasks:

1) I handle any unresolved requests for moderation action. This generally involves reviewing reported posts (and taking action if warranted) and approving/rejecting submitted avatars.

2) I review the list of most recent moderator actions and notes added to users' accounts, so I get a sense of things such as disputes brewing between individual users.

The main difference between me and most of the other mods is that I'm not assigned to a specific forum, so I'm less inclined to "go on patrol" and randomly review posts, looking for rule violations. Instead, I tend to participate on the site as if I were a regular user (which is something that we mods have been asked to do). However, if in the course of participating on the site, I come across something that violates the rules, then I'll take action. It's worth noting that my abovementioned post count doesn't include my edits of other users' posts (mainly snipping out flames).

Also, a good portion of the moderators' work isn't "visible." Some threads need to be removed (e.g., those involving bootleg trafficking) instead of being locked or whatever, and most users won't notice. Nobody sees when we approve/reject avatars, except for the person who submitted it for review. And all of the mods participate in an email list where we discuss issues such as conflicts between users and general prince.org policy issues.

As for PEJ, we received a request to review a post of his. I reviewed the post and determined that it was "flamebait," which violates the forum rules. (No, it had nothing to with EWM. In fact, it targeted another user, who was mentioned by name.) In light of the post and PEJ's history, I felt that a two-day ban was appropriate. And I stand behind that decision.

Anyway, PEJ has been reinstated and welcomed back to the forums. And if a user--EWM, PEJ, or anyone else--violates the rules, then please use the "Report post to moderator" function. Your moderation request will be reviewed, and now that we've significantly enlarged the moderation team, we tend to respond pretty quickly.
Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position.

Personally, I think the mods on this site do an absolutely kick-ass job for the most part. No complaints there.

However EWM's continued presence here is a complete mystery to me - in terms of why he is permitted to remain here, but also in terms of why he wants to remain here.

I'm fairly sure he's been given more chances than any other user on this site. I share some of the blame - I deactivated his account many times when I was moderator, but invariably bowed to pressure (often from the Org "powers that be") to reinstate it when he became "Mister Reasonable" and forged an agreement to behave.

The issue is bigger than just EWM though. EWM is just a troll - a familiar sight on discussion boards around the world, and not to be taken too seriously lest you give him the attention that he so desperately needs. The real point is, there are and have always been individuals on the Org who are "untouchable" - they can pretty much do whatever they want on the forums, safe in the knowledge that if they bleat loud enough and long enough at the right person (usually Ben) they'll get the result they crave and have their posting priviledges restored.

I hereby invite any of the mods to look through the notes on EWM's account and justify his continued existence on the site, whilst keeping a straight face smile smile
