Ooh I actually have the Day-Zs on CD. The only song that's really worth a fuck on there is "Today". I'll try to look around and see if I can come up with any info.

edit:

this is the only page I've been able to find with any kind of info. This page shows what CeCe, one of the singers in the group has been up to since, and before the Day-Zs.

Its Ok, but I wouldn't give it a second look if it didn't have anything to do with Morris. I like the green acres bit where he signs though

Wasn't nothin like the time. It was really generic girl group pop. Imagine the spice girls 5 years earlier, but with really dated sounding production. The lyrics mostly suck too. I like "Today" it's an 8 minute power ballad. But nah, it ain't nothin like I hoped it'd be, on some Vanity/Apollonia 6 type shit. The lyrics sound like they were written by a 12 year old.

Thanks for the 411.

Did the music at least have any of the heavy synthsizer Minneapolis sound? With all those "gimme some nasty horns" type grooves? Even Morris' 1st album had that going on.

Nah man you wouldn't believe how generic it sounds. The only song that approaches the MPLS sound is "green acres", and even that's not saying much. i bet you could find this cd on ebay really cheap if you're that interested.

Flash money, limousines, my house, diamond rings.....

yeah, Green Acres is where its at, largely 'cos of a funny cameo appearance by Morris! the rest of the album is very painful and very dated - one for die hards only IMHO.

I got it on ebay as suggested.

Y'all were right.... pretty generic.

Didn't really dig GreenAcers.... though the last few seconds with those organ chords sound like then end of of Jungle Love.

"high fasion" sounds like Morris' 1st album. although that song title is my favorite Family song so still dissapointed smile

Was more interested to learn that Cheri -- the original Mary jane Girl who got replaced by Corvette -- was in this group as lead singer!

You can't see the girls' faces on the artwork though.

I remember back in the day the MJGs were on NY Hot Trax ( a video show) and Cheri said she was from my hometown!!! (in NJ)

I've always thought that Klymaxx was the like the female version of the Time. Bernadette and Morris had the same comical "I'm the shit" type of attitude.

Multi-Purpose Girl wasn't on any album. It was their first release produced by Jam & Lewis if memory serves me correctly.

Where did you find the Maxx is Back? I've been looking for that for years. I love Just That Type of Girl.

Oh, and yeah, I did see them on VH1. I was excited to see them perform again, too bad they had all of that drama to deal with. I would like to see them (the original women) tour like The Time does.
