Oh please, this is the Internet. There is always alot of misinformation and rumors being spread. That's just the way it goes.If Jerome is so pissed about what people are saying about him, then he should be a man and come on here and set the record straight. In any case, considering where his career is at these days,he should be glad that people are still talking about him at all.

OMG you guys be nice... Some of you can be so mean sometimes! In case you guys haven't figured it out yet, tons of folks (old and new) from that camp are on here. The .ORG is the best tool ever- if you want people to notice you, just start talking bad about yourself or spreading rumors. Infact, somebody from that camp is following this thread right now. That being the case, HEY YOU! YES YOU! I want a Jerome Benton LEAD song (players, give him some room please, he's EARNED it!) on that new TIME record or else! (Gucci = Stacy Adams)!

yes, and tons of folks have discussed the wrong information some have with tact. some fans had a conversation w/ one of them about the orgs misinformation and it was handled with a hardy laugh...not a rant.

Laughing is always the best way to deal with anything (SERIOUSLY!) and SOS I *DO* love you and your Moderating style (I think you're one of the fairest in the land!), but we're all only human. Sometimes I think we have unfair expectations of these folks... I'm not saying it's c-o-o-l to tell people off, but you guys got see a very human side of him the other night. What he was trying to say but couldn't was that some of you guys hurt his feelings. How many times do you get to see someone go there (on stage even) and be that frank? He could have just smiled and on with the show and let it roll of his back, but instead he was honest. It may not have been in the right way, but it was r-e-a-l. Now that sh*t is interesting!

But what was he really honest about? He never said what was incorrect or what he was seemingly mad about. I personally thought it was quite rude; a lot of people went to the concert & the movie to show love for Prince & the Time and he singled out one fan website and scolded them like children. There are more mature ways to handle the situation, imo. And my experience is that you get a lot further by treating people nicely and respecting them than bitching them out. If he wouldn't have been so rude this thread could have been 'Purple Rain in Bklyn--Jerome gave the org props' instead of what the hell was his problem?

Yeah, it sucks when people spread rumors about you (IF that's even what he was alluding to), but getting pissy about it doesn't necessarily help your reputation. And chances are, the people who were actually there are not the ones who wrote whatever he was talking about (the gay thread?), so why blame everyone for a few bad apples?

Nevermind Jerome and Drunk Guy.

I was at BAM Sat. And had a great time.

And took along friends who had never seen Purple Rain. They can't stop talking about how much fun they had!!! It was as much about the fans as it was about the film.

Will I be seeing any of you at the Tamar (w special guest) show Thurs?

I don't know what his problem is with the org. This should be his favorite site because we are the ones that take up for the artists that have worked with Prince in the past such as Andre Cymone, Jesse Johnson, Wendy & Lisa, Brown Mark, etc. So many of the other Prince fans think the world revolves around Prince and that all these other artists he has worked with should just shut up, take whatever Prince dishes out to them, and be grateful and kiss his ass for even being allowed to be in his presence in the first place. We are the ones that take up for these artists and set the "fams" straight.

do u think he meant the org INFO is wrong or OPINIONS are wrong?

My interpretation was that some info on the org was wrong. It was weird. He asked, "are there any prince.orgers here?" and then when people screamed he started talking about "Y'all motherfuckers need to get day jobs instead of sitting around writing stuff that is not true. You think it's correct but you are wrong. I should join the org and start writing stuff too."

The stuff we write here comes strictly from what we have read in magazines, books, or seen on television in the past. If it's not true, then the press is the ones he should be mad at unless we just made it up and lied to begin with.

As far as speculating goes, that is strictly what someone thinks about a particular situation and you can't control that. Prince set that up for himself and everyone surrounding him by being so mysterious. If someone doesn't know every little thing about a person, they are going to speculate. Sure, people should mind their own business but it's not a perfect world and people are nosey and aren't going to be perfect. Hell, people speculate about me every day and I could care less. I let them know what I want them to know about me and if they choose to believe it or not, who cares.

Jerome is cool. Anybody can have a bad day. The problem is with people. We tend to deify our favorite artists and flip out later when they do something even remotedly human. Prince can be egotistical, insecure and promiscuous. So what! Morris had a drug habit at one time. So what! Jerome lashed out at fans at an appearance. So what! Human frailty plagues us all.

I think you're right. I know it shouldn't be a big deal. But what should be the case and what is the case are often two different things. This holds particularly true in the States.

And? What's your point? Nobody buys a Time cd or attend one of their concerts to see Jerome! That's like Andrew Ridgely (from Wham) bitching about the fanbase. Who cares? To trip over Jerome like this is to give the guy more attention than he deserves. He had a bad day. Let it go. It's tough living in the shadow of Morris Day and Prince. No doubt tougher being famous for basically being a flunky.

Jerome has ALWAYS come OFF as GAY to me. The REFERENCE to LIBERACE in UTCM kinda makes ya think it also...." I'M MY OWN MAN.....JUST LIKE LIBERACE." However, he was Chasing girls also in UTCM. So, I just think the lIBERACE thing was a JOKE. Gigalos can be BI anyway....But, Prince and Jerome and MORRIS ALWAYS play with the GAY THEME...GRACE and KING and QUEEN..... I guess he was CLARIFYING that he is NOT GAY if U WILL..... Is that what he was Doing? I wasn't there. Maybe he was talking about Something else anyway.

He was just joking around. You're right though Lauren. Straight guys hold a dim view of the gay lifestyle. But if a person is gay, I would much rather he or she take pride in themselves than be trying to suppress it or whining about it....
