ChAKA KHAN 1982 -Bebop Medley and more

wow! recently got that album for 5 euros, and it´s amazing. especially the B-side with that spectacular bebop-medley! that´s some really crazy jazzhead-80iesfunk shit. never heard something like that before.
my favourite track is "twisted". searching in the internet for some informationm I noticed there is no CD available of this album. why? not good enough? anyway- Vinyls are the real deal!

This is one I wish i'd picked up when it was available.
You best believe the next time I see one it'll get got.

When it was released, that medley made the great Betty Carter say that Chaka was the one non-Jazz female vocalist with true improvisational credibility.

From a Q&A Session With Chaka Khan done 10/04 on the soulmusic.com website...

Q: What song do you feel is the best recording of your voice
( I'm thinking both in terms of performance and of showing the qualities of your voice)?

CK: Be Bop Medley

There you go.

do you know chakas "coltraine dreams" on her album "destiny". it´s much too short, but sorta in the same vein as bebop-medley.
