Australia has more chance of getting a tour in 2004 than Prince doing Galstonbury festival.

Theres more chance of Wendy & Lisa will join Prince in 2004 for a Revolution reunion than Prince playing the Galstonbury festival.

As others have said before, it can all go pear shaped way before the big day, even hours before. But even if it is confirmed how many of you are gonna pay £100+ to stay two nights in a muddy field, just to watch P perform on the Sunday night in front of a majority crowd that will barrack, boo and whatever.

bear in mind that if it does happen (BIG "IF") then it'll be live on BBC TV anyway

can i ask if Prince has been flaky in recent years like maybe the past two years? i know he has a long history of flakiness but i think that he has been quite good with his flakiness in recent years and been a bit honourable. all this negativity i think is coming from the negative views of Prince in the Hahn book, the poor website and the less than desired NEWS.

I still say its a bad idea...nobody takes him seriously (outside his fanbase anymore)...he's just another Michael Jackson to most people.

He will sooo get the usual tretament mainstream pop artists do at Glastonbury...bottles of piss thrown at him on stage - Ive seen it happen before...not nice!!! you know? i think you are wrong. yes there are loads of ppl who might think he is naff now but i also believe there are laods of ppl who will come to see him cuz they are curious and they have heard of his legend as a performer and musician. think about it: 130,000 people go to glastonbury. not everyone likes REM or radiohead or Moby but his year even if you didn't like them you still saw them cuz they headlined. i mean, MOBY! he's so limpy they should have pelted him with mud! but they didn't. the lamest of bands played glasto this year and it was great. even tho Prince doesn't sell in huge amounts anymore and yes he is considered a weirdo recluse, ppl still go to his shows. look at Elton John...he couldn't give away his albums but he sells out his shows ALL THE TIME CUZ PPL KNOW HE ROCKS THE HOUSE ALL THE TIME. i know it's elton, it's true. Prince is going make Glasto 2004 very special. even if going to bo just for his hardcore fans. have some positivity. jeez.

(Sorry guys, I'd really like 2 be positive and see him tour there 4 u, but don't pin all your hopes on it. Being a Prince fan, u guys should know things fall through / change / rearrange at the last minute) Oh HOW I wish I could say...

I really hope Im wrong - it just Ive seen some of teh jerks who go (and Ive been with some) who think they are individual cuz they like Marilyn Manson and other rock bands and dismiss pop as if it was disease..just because its not cool.

Thank goodness I read this - I was tempted for a moment to brave the porta-loos, stink from not washing, hate the crowds and be millions of miles back so I couldn't even see him. Now I can watch at home

Its not about having faith...Prince doesnt fit in to that type of festival!!!

AND there wasn't any piss thrown about the place.

We both know that prince and REM are very different - REM are still putting out trax trhat people love...Prince has don nothing, in the publics eyes, since the whole SLAVE period when he was a laughing stock.

fine. i think he will go down great. ONA live wasn't too heavy with the religious talk anyway so i think even if he does mention God or Jesus or whatever, i'm pretty sure he won't be bombarded with pee. Jimmy Cliff talked about God this year. nobody minded.

If you went to the Wembly Stadium gig back in 93-ish...thats the type of gig I think he should do - that would go down a treat at Glasto, I hope he hasnt turned his back on that style completely. If he can rekindle that type of show...raw and powerful,it would be wonderfully received. well i'm not from England but i do live in London. i see your point on the type of show that you would prefer. that is what i said in my original post. if he does a set that is not too heavy on JW theology than cool. if not, then maybe he won't be received that well. either way, his musicianship and the party vibe that was present during ONA will win them over.

I think Prince doesn't have the balls to play at Glastonbury.

I know it is a general trait on this website but the amount of negativity coming through this thread is really quite sad. Come on people (not all of you!!) but loosen up a bit.

Hello folks. I'm a Glastonbury veteran, having been to eight of 'em - and I feel I'm qualified to offer the following advice to the honourable Mr. Nelson:
