Prince aftershow at Indie Temple, Brisbane

This is a review of what we can remember so it may not be too accurate. We were having sooo much fun we cant remember every detail!

After a fabulous 3 hour concert at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre finishing at midnight, an announcement was made that there would be an aftershow at Indie Temple, Fortitude Valley in Brisbane. Approximately 200 fams lined up outside the club after making their way there from the Entertainment Centre. Entry was $A50 and we were told the show would commence at approx. 2am. The venue holds approximately 400 comfortably but the final number was about 250-300 people. The gear was being set up upon our arrival so we knew something was going to happen. The band arrived about 2am and Prince thereafter at about 2.45. After a couple of drinks and some pool the band and Prince made their way to the stage. Prince was dressed casually in a white turtle neck sweater, black long top over grey pants. Dont know about the fro' tho. He looks like the young Prince again! Good/Bad?...mmm...
Prince played 2 sets with a half hour break between the 2. Included tracks were 1+1+1=3, Skin Tight, Willing and Able, Girls and Boys, Instrumental Jams (songs unknown? Can anyone else remember?) Everyday People with Larry Graham, I'll take u there sung by Rad, A song sung by Chance (while Prince played keyboard) a couple of other jams (cant remember!!) and finally a brilliant version of Stevie Wonder's Superstution. Wev'e missed a couple of tracks (we were in musical heaven and too busy getting funky and enjoying ourselves to remember everything...can other fams help?) Prince was in a great mood playing with the audience, smiling and just enjoying his time in Australia. Everybody savioured this special treat (especially for aussie fams) and went home damn satisfied! The show ended just before 5am with the sun rising over the city. We felt privelaged to have witnessed the show.
The finale in Brisbane to the short Aussie Prince tour was truly brilliant and magical, with a 3 hour concert and the after show what more can a Prince fam ask for? Well, another concert or 2 or 3 and another aftershow...are we ever satified? As Aussie fams having waited 11 years for him to come back we truly APPRECIATE the opportunity even more so to see him play live. THANK U PRINCE !! smile Now when r u coming back?? Next year?!!
