I have a responsibility to them to perform in a manner that I would like my children to be performed in front of. So, that said, I just want to be the best human being I can be...on stage and off."
He sounds so human! I love it!!!!! and as the stars watched me descend i cracked the family tree and dropped off all of the branches

AIRBORUSH said: I have a really great bass player -- Rhonda Smith. I notice that she doesn't think it's important for her to take solos and play too much and drown out the other instruments... she's a joy in the sense that she understands that her instrument, the bass, really is spelled B-A-S-E as opposed to B-A-S-S."
This, to me, sounds like, "She won't upstage me."

Then Prince went on to say... "S'cuse me now, I gotta go sue some little bitch whose camera I stole." Purple Fact #6218: Prince peels his M&Ms.

AIRBORUSH said: Prince tells Syler that he embraces female performers and actually prefers working with them. "Female musicians tend to listen better, and they don't let their ego get in the way of music. I have a really great bass player -- Rhonda Smith. Does that quote sound like the 2004 version of, "I really like my wife, because she knows her place, and that's in the kitchen. And man can she ever make one mean stuffed pork chop!," to anyone else? Okay, maybe not the stuffed pork chop part. I have a feeling that if he ever said that about Wendy or Lisa, they'd smack him up. Prolly why Prince and the Revolution dropped the Revolution, before its time. Luv & Peace, Alex Clubbin' in Mpls/A Night w. Prince

Prince talks exclusively with CBS News' THE EARLY SHOW anchor René Syler. In this rare television interview, the unpredictable and sometimes controversial Prince speaks candidly about politics, racism, the war on terror, and the music industry as a whole. i think i'll make it a point to miss this one "Awards are like hemorrhoids. Prince Just to explore all possibilities of the intention of his statement, besides the sexist/chauvenist one. Perhaps he meant that the absence of ego and showboating helps the band flow better as a cohesive unit. This type of attitude is crucial especially with the Base (Bass) of the band. The Bass is the feet of the band, not the head. What if u had to where your feet on your head? Why did I just ask that? Blue

Prince I can see how this could be construed that way, but I don't think that's the case at all. If you read the sidebar article on Mike Scott in Guitar Player, he talks about how he used to show off when he was playing, until Prince taught him otherwise. To create a tighter sound, you have to reign it in sometimes. As for Wendy and Lisa, I DO believe he would say this about them. They were phenominally tight, and weren't big on showboating at all. This isn't negative, in my opinion. ----- [This message was edited Fri Jul 16 11:51:14 2004 by JediMaster] Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones.
