Why isn't Prince performing at the American Music Awards next weekend??

It would be great to hear him perform Cinnamon Girl live and have the video at the background; it would create more buzz for the song!! I doubt if he'll win an award but it would be nice to hear him perform. Anyone knows why he's not performing??

It's a shit awards show, anyway. It's completely based on record sales, so you know Usher is going to sweep in all of his categories. I'm interested in seeing Gwen Stefani perform, but Jimmy Kimmel hosting doesn't really make me want to watch it.

Co-sign - U know little boy Usher is going to take home all the glory. The only person I won't be mad if they win over Prince is Alicia Keys - she's like a female Prince and he truly digs her. And Jimmel Kimmel is corny. I don't see prince Wanting to particpate in this.

Prince's band is on tour in other places and one of the Mods at the Music Club adv Prince will neither be performing nor presenting at the AMA's.

Based on sales, which the AMA's are, Prince will not "win" an award.

Stars were lacking so much on the AMA's last year, at the beggining of the show, they just announced all the nominees instead of who would be there. Big let down for the crowd and the people watching at home as award after award winner was not there.

Will Prince at least show up at the AMAs, not as a performer, but as a nominee-- win or lose?? I think it's good exposure for him to be seen there...I'd love to see Mani as well!!

I just saw on the E Channel a report on the AMAs. Dick Clark was saying how great it will be with the 18 performances. Then he said that there will be a "surprise performance." He really can't say now, but it is somebody who is really big right now. He said that come Monday morning, everyone will be saying, "did you see that performance?!"

Kind of makes you wonder who he could be talking about. Prince did have a big year. Maybe it could be him. His performance would be one that people would be talking about later. Who else had a big year, that would warrant a bunch of talk the next day?
