Yes and it most likely will be forever as that's an independent NPG release. The 4 disc version is available at Ebay and other online sites for a reasonable rate though.

Believe it or not, a week ago, I saw a copy of Crystal Ball in its 4-disc flavor--and in the clear, round, plastic case--at the Tower Records in Concord, CA, for about $25!

Also, I just looked on seconspin.com and they've got several copies for sale... http://www.secondspin.com...um=2144964

I saw the 4 disc set for sale last year in a record store for $9.99. With as cheap as Emancipation and Crystal Ball are everywhere it makes you wonder how many they printed originally because obviously they aren't printing additional copies.

I haven't seen Crystal Ball in stores since 1998 up here in Alberta Canada, although I have come across price-reduced Emancipation's now and then.

I see "Crystal Ball" at Media Play every so often. It might be out of print, but they still might have it.

Yes, some parts are good and others are junk.

I remember buying it for like $15 maybe $12 online at CDNow (yes, way back then) and I think it was worth it. It's got a load of really good tracks on there from different eras (although it seems like a lot of the stuff are "Gold" outakes). For "Movie Star" and "Crystal Ball" alone, it's worth it. You might not like everything on there, but you'll surely dig at least a handful of tracks.

More like they couldn't shift the ones they had!

I doubt if any of the past NPG Records releases are still inprint. Stuff like the Gold Experience and Exodus sure aren't.

Just because you see something in the record store doesn't mean it's in print (and be for real, it's Prince/NPG label)...what planet are you on? The copies you still can find in the stores just means that all of this time no one has s bought them since the original release. Most of Prince's WB catalogue is still in print, but like someone else mentioned Gold is out of print. It all depends on the sales of the title. Purple Rain will never go out of print because it is a staple in his catalogue and it will always sell no matter how bad the rest of his music may become.

They have it Used (and by dealers), which would sugggest it's out of print. There are three different verisons...the cutout is $24.99, which is pretty damn high! They seem to be charging double for the circular cased one. That's crazy!

Out of print:

Crystal Ball(all versions)
Emancipation
New Power Soul
Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic
Black Album
Gold Experience
Gold Nigga(both versions)
Exodus

I'm betting that Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic and Rainbow Children are OOP too.

I got my copy from 1-800-NEW-FUNK in January 1998. I pre-ordered my copy early in '97 so I got a free Jam Of The Year Tour T-Shirt and the Kamasutra CD (Prince and Mayte's wedding music) for free. Also The Truth CD (acoustic album, Comeback is about Prince and Mayte's babys death.) All in a clear round ball-shaped box case.
Goodnight, sweet Prince.

That copy you bought has probably been sitting in the CD rack for years.
