Are there any programs out there...

For the computer, that can be used to break up tracks? I'm tired of dealing with the one track Lovesexy crapola.

I don't know much about these computer things either...
I was hoping to put my cassette singles (La,la,la he,he hee, 200 balloons, War, etc...) on CD before they desintegrate into dust.

Is there a program to make CD from a cassette?
Maybe it can be used to split the tracks for u Razz. pc

Any yummy scrumdillyicious people out there have any ideas? heart

Yes, there are programs. Sound Forge is the one I used to put breaks in the tracks

Umm what we did for old cassettes & vinyl was to record it on to a MP3 file (or whatever you call it) and then take that recording and using the sound Forge program it converted it into a CD. So if you have the proper equipemnt you can certainly do it

"Audacity" is a free, good one.

Just extract the one long CD track, chop it up in fitting pieces and burn the individual wavs/mp3s/oggs as a CD-R. Of course nothing prevents you from making i.e. a 56-track special bonanza version of LoveSexy that way. It's all up to the slicing, mind you - "Anna Stesia" starts with the piano chords, the string part belongs to "Glam Slam". And what sounds like the intro to "Alphabet St." is actually the outro of "Eye No". That's how they are sliced on the official (European) tracked version, which I own.

THANK U SO VERY MUCH!

The suggestions were extremely helpful and much appreciated!!!!!

I have Prince singles from early 80ies to transfer as well as recordings of my grandparents singing to me when i was a little muffin. So, I was eager to save all my tapes.

U made my day! XOXOXO
