I'll never get tired of Purple Rain!  Although I was a bit too tired to watch the movie last night. But that was only because I had a long day.

I don't care if it being his most popular album ever taints it for some hardcore fans. It's easily his best to me. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

If it wasn't for that whole project, I might not be a fan today. It's my favorite album of his (along with Parade) and I never get tired of hearing all the songs on this album. Purple Rain 4ever! It was just the oposite for me...I started dozing and decided to channel surf one more round before turning the TV off....saw PR and perked right up. I love that movie, Although all the edits really ticked me off. What am I supposed 2 do when the President can't get nothin' passed? | |

...I'm not convinced that one can be a true Prince fan and not love this album..it's a classic, pure and simple...if folks wanna dismiss it because of its popularity, it seems to me they just wanna seem overly cool and aloof...I would venture to say that this is the album that generated most of his fanbase, for those same fans to turn around and diss Purple Rain is just silly...That being said, this is an incredible album, such broad appeal...my 5 year old son is quickly becoming a fan and without any coaxing he is convinced that "When Doves Cry" is the greatest song ever... | |
