I missed every single "Celebration" at Paisly Park and finally when I had the time and money to go, Prince decided he didn't want to have them anymore! pout

by 85' had never bought the 1999 album so I borrowed a tape (a counterfeit from Mexico) from a friend. And then I decided to buy it for real... and the night I got it someone got into my car and rapped both copies around my car... so I ended up having to replace both tapes...lucky for me I was able to replace them both with Mexican counterfeits.

I had never seen Prince live and he was coming to Columbia, SC in 1988 for the Lovesexy tour. I didn't have a ticket but my dad gave me 200 to buy one at the show. He was going to drop me off but on the day of the concert it was cancelled because P and the gang got snowed in in Atlanta. He didn't reschedule and it would be 8 years before I finally saw the man live.

I was one of the lucky NPGMC members picked to go see Prince when he was on The Ellen Degeneres talk show in 2004...but the email telling me that was sent to my spam blocker (it was from a different email address than they usually send from) and I didn't notice this until the day of the show taping. They said that if I didn't respond by the day before that my ticket would be given away. I guess I could have gone to Burbank and seen if they still had it, but I decided that was too far to go only to find that I was no longer wanted.

I traded the Shiela E Romance 1600 Live Video with Prince singing Love Bizarre at the end for 2 lousy bootleg videos. This has haunted me ever since. I was only 16. I am now 33 and have still never been able to replace it!!!!

I do have a copy of his performance but you will all understand how I feel. It was and still is my biggest ever Prince regret!

I live in Australia and spent the first half of 2003 saving up to go to the Celebration. By late April/May it was kinda obvious that there wasn't going to be one, so I booked a trip to the UK and decided to stay over there for a while (working/holiday etc).

Literally a week before I flew out, Prince announced he was touring Australia! I was majorly PISSED lol If he had announced it a month earlier, I probably would have hung around in Australia instead! But I already had flights/tours booked and everything so it was too late to cancel.

Anyway, I ended up saving enough money in the UK to go the states and catch a couple of Musicology shows, so it all worked out in the end.

i used to post over here a LOt, but the fams can be really frightening in their famishness... so i crossed over to GD and have pretty much lived there for the most part these last 3 years

I divide my time mostly between Non-Prince, GD, and P&R. The Prince forum usually just gets a quick hello.

When I bought my cassette single for Batdance in '89, I popped it in to listen to it, flipped it over to listen to 200 Balloons for the first time, and the tape was such crappy quality that it was barely audible. The sound went down and up, tons of treble then tons of bass...I was pissed!
