A million days direcyed towards Mayte

When I listen to these lyrics I feel as though they are directed towards her. When they were together, he said she was his best friend. I don't feel he is talking about Mani. So..... what ya'll think?

I always felt the same thing. Tommy Lee wrote about Mayte in his book and he said he was blown away by her because she was as he put it "this hot girl" who he could talk to, was creative/artistic, understood a musician's language and and just this really cool person. I'm pretty sure Prince must have felt the same way about her. Lots of beautiful women are pretty shallow (well the types that date rock stars) and Mayte seems like the type of woman that doesn't feel she has to act one way towords a man and another way towords a woman. Meaning I'm sure Prince felt like he could feel comfortable around her just like "a best friend" and when I hear the emotion in his voice I hear Mayte's presence.

Mayte is balanced...more than Prince is! Prince needed to get Madonna to kick his ass and get a good dose of good ol'reality!

It doesn't sound very inspired or personal to me. I think it's just a simple rock ballad to fill up a quickly put together album.

I disagree a million days was one of the better tracks on that cd.

The fact that you think it sounds like an old track speaks volumes about it, doesn't it?

It sounds like it was from 1995 to me. Just like the song 3121 does.

Yeah, if you make a compilation tape with songs like Shhh, Days Of Wild, Ripopgodazippa and Gold then add a Million Days and 3121 and they fit sonically. They smack of Gold era. Maybe on 3121 it's Michael B's drumming.
