What do you consider Prince's best album with the worst promotion?

Hmmm. I gotta think about this one myself.

The Gold Experience, for sure. That album was hot as fire, only to be delayed over a year and botched in terms of single selection. Does anyone think the public would get the vibe of that album with 3 ballads as singles?

yeah....even if they were released today it would hit.....and imagine if he had done Eye Hate U on the BET Awards!! but the promotion for 3121 is just as bad and if not worse....

nod TGE, with 3121 in 2nd place. TGE was an excellent album that got caught in the crossfire of the Prince vs. Warners war. Shoot, and it's hard for folks to even find a copy these days. pout

Agreed.Plus,Prince was feuding with Warners when it was released which didn't help matters. He filmed a video for the first single "Eye Hate U" but didn't even release it!

TGE second, but I reckon Come, virtually no promotion for one of his best records.

Yeah, without a doubt. It had the potential to be at least as big as Diamonds and Pearls.

3121 is shaping up to be similarly disappointing.

Need us forget that it has to be a good album to qualify as the "best with the worst" biggrin

My vote goes to LoveSexy...the album ruled...the tour kicked ass...but it could have sold more if it didn't [technically] follow the Black Album and if Prince didn't appear nude on the cover...

DITTO!

Also Grafitti Bridge too! Okay, now I LOVE the movie, but I realize
the general public could probably pick out a few flaws in it. lol

However, the album is awsome! I've played We Can Funk, Joy in repetition,
and New Power Generation for some of my friends (since they're 3 of
my favorite songs) and all of them were like
"These songs aren't bad! What album were they on?"
If you will, so will I

I'd say
1.Rainbow Children: Never got off the ground after much hype
2.Choas & disorder: had enough Video that were not played
3.The Goldexperience : Started strong then fell off
We all want a big hit again because
we want to relive the Hysteria & Pandemonium we experienced
when Purple Rain was Hot. Actually, he doesn't care if it happens again or not.

THE TRUTH!!!!!

This CD should not have been buried and packaged with the fiasco that was Crystal Ball.

It should have been sold by it's self and promoted as Prince's new acoustic CD. Songs like "Don't Play Me", "Circle of Amour", "Fascination" are classics. It's a shame non-Prince fans know nothing of it's existence.
