The Dance Electric

In my humble opinion the perfect song ever recorded!

Hmm, org hick-up...

Wanted to say that this is pure, unique Prince funk. That beat has to be the hardest he ever did. And when he adds this rhythm guitar... headbang

Two classics that I wish Prince had released himself.

I can´t get enough of this song...it´s part of my workout mix, it´s part of my breakfast music mix when I go to the kitchen in the morning, and I listen to it at night too.Great song, great beat, fantastic lyrics.Sometimes I just can´t believe how a 24 year old could write all those songs, all those incredible lyrics in such a short time.

Sometimes the bootleg version of a song sounds much rawer and dirtier and the bass is dirtier, like for instance with this song and also the 86 version of We Can Funk....that´s why I don´t even want him to re-record or re-release this cuz he might fuck it up like he fucked up some of those Graffiti Bridge songs.

The Dance Electric is indeed a perfect song.Sheer genius.Prince at his best.

This is one of those Revolution era tracks that made Prince 'larger' than life.

Cp. with Computer Blue, Automatic, Electric Intercourse, The Ladder, Neon Telephone, In A Large Room With No Lights, Mountains, ...

All delightful material cool cool cool

Does Prince realize how great this song is?

He must...but why not release it?

It's songs like this that sit in the vault while P gives the world "Life of the Party".

And everybody wants to blame WB/Arista/Universal for screwing up Prince's record sales and airplay?

This is one of his coolest tracks, period. The murkiness of the bootleg makes it even darker & mysterious.
