"It's in his will, I read it
He shot 2 kill, he said it.."

i do not know the answer .... its an interesting post .... i personally always took it to refer to the next line "for all those that know the number and dont call .... "

in other words --- his "words were scathing , biting ...when he said " .... that next line ... wink

i had NEVER heard that theory - that elvis killed jfk ...

it's about the "prince" will. since he was prince
and 'prince' was supposedly dead at the time.

shot to kill probably refers to the gun mic he
used in the final stages of being 'prince'.
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

So it's a reference to prince killing off Prince, saying he meant to do it and it was for keeps? It would tie in with the bit about "Somebody once told him that he wouldn't take Prince through the ringer" which perhaps is about a record executive challenging him when he first threatened to kill the Prince name, like, 'oh yeah, he'll never risk losing his Prince name".

That is what it's about. The suits tried to bury him like they did Elvis but he turned the tables on 'em by knocking Prince off.

"Sign the name they gave ya, but when the muthaf*ckas turn around ass up, you're what? Face Down!"

I love the hell outta that song. biggrin
Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Cool. I was always confused about a couple of the lines in the song. That makes sense i guess.
