I said the same thing, but with peoples thinking on marriage these days they have a hard time assocating (marriage = forever)
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.
You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

Hey everybody, Im getting married in a few months, and Ive been racking my brain trying to come up with the perfect song for my wife and I to dance to. I was thinking possibly Adore, or even his cover of A Case Of U.. My first choice would be Grand Progression, but obviously there isnt a good enough quality version to be played.. so any suggestions would be appreciated, so I can sort thru them..

one in a million by larry graham. that's what my dad played when he married my now former stepmother (no wonder their marriage didn't last-- got off on the wrong foot!). lol

We used "Adore" as our first dance. However, I do like "Forever In My Life" as well.
pray God bless everyone. NO exceptions. pray

Adore is good, but probably has been used a lot. I'd say: Friend, Lover, Sister, Mother, Wife; Forever in my Life or Betcha by Golly Wow (his or the original). Or Larry's One in Million. But to be honest, I'm a major Prince fan but wouldn't use one of his songs for the main dance myself. Recently I heard the old song "I Love You" by the Climax Blues Band and I think it is the perfect wedding song. I'm sure it was used a lot way back when but seldom heard these days.
Ask where they're going, they'll tell U – "Nowhere"
They've taken a lifetime lease on Paisley Park ...music

I'd recommend going with a non-Prince song.

No! Not "The Greatest Romance Ever Sold"!

I'm not sure what the song is about, but it's certainly NOT about romance, right? I mean, he's practically SELLING the IDEA of a romance!

Hold on...I'll be right back...I'm gonna start a thread called "What do u think 'the greatest romance ever sold' is about?"

i personally don't like weddings. not that anyone asked my opinion but i thought i'd offer it anyway. i think i hate all of the preparation, time, effort and money that go into alot of them and then they're over w/ in a blink. if i came from money i would have the simplest wedding ceremony possible and then i would ask my family to pay for a bombastically fantabulous honeymoon. one that's a month long! thumbs up!

Thanks for all the great response guys.. Still not sure.. Adore is a possibility.. Betcha By Golly Wow was one I had thought of earlier.. Im still going through song after song trying to find one we both agree on.

I should just play Blue Light.. thats the one that is most us anyways lol...

Either that or Strange Relationship...

mushy How sweet. Yes, Adore would be my choice too. It's just so... beautiful and it says it all, all the right things.

Until the end of time
Ill be there 4 u
U own my heart and mind
I truly adore u
If God one day stroke me blind
Your beauty Id still see
Love is 2 weak 2 define
Just what u mean 2 me

Perfect for a wedding.

Perfect for a wedding.

We had Adore for our first song. My wife loved it after i played it to her.
We also got the WTF? looks and comments....and I told the DJ to make sure he played the whole song and not to fade it out....it was great to hear it that loud...pure pleasure.
Who cares if it is an obvious choice....99% of the people there (unless you invite some of us here) will never have heard it anyway...and it would be good for them anyway to hear some real music for once in their life.

I wondered if anyone at our wedding heard these lyrics later in the song....

When we be makin' love
I only hear the sounds
Heavenly angels cryin' up above
Tears of joy pourin' down on us
They know we need each other
They know U are my fix
I know, that U know that I ain't cheatin' baby
They know this is serious, I ain't funkin' just 4 kicks, no
This condition I got is crucial, crucial
baby U could say that I'm a terminal case
U could burn up my clothes
Smash up my ride, well maybe not the ride
But I got 2 have your face All up in the place
I'd like 2 think that I'm a man of exquisite taste
A hundred percent Italian silk imported Egyptian lace
But nothin' baby, I said nothin' baby could compare
2 your lovely face
Do U know what I'm sayin' 2 ya this evening
I'm just tryin' 2 say I'm just tryin' 2 say
That until, until the end of time I'll be there 4 U

and then those screams....

We also had 'the rest or my life' playing when we walked into the reception.
One of the other choices i presented to my wife was a billie holiday song and Massive Attack's Angel - really intense.
