eek

That could explain why he and Nicole have been hanging around...
I've actually been wondering myself what it would sound like if Prince and TPCD did something together, who knew that it would actually happen. smile

Interesting.

I'm gonna say something that is probably totally full of shit, and wont hold water, but, a while ago I had this feeling that the Pussycat dolls were actually a Prince manufactured group, bit like the old days, Vanity 6, Appolonia, all that era. And nobody was ever supposed to know, just like some of his 80's projects. You know, just a little side-line project. confused

Someone back me up! is this at all possible??

If that were to be true, it would be incredible - both in terms of how well-kept a secret it is, and their success.

Seems highly unlikely though - PCD has a history that goes back a few years, plus I believe Cee Lo Green wrote Dontcha (I don't think Prince would have been happy with their lead single being written by someone else if it was his project).

Well Carmen Electra DID get them started...like got them noticed cause she danced with them a lot...who knows?

I'm surprised he'd do a song with such a weak group but I guess he can't refuse the 6 hot women. lol

I can't back you up with facts, but I did have that same feeling when I heard their music. It screams of Prince's input.

cool

I know nothing about PCD, but this says it will be released on Dec. 12th, 2007 - that seems very far away to already have the tracklist set. I would guess that the date itself is probably wrong, and the tracklist may be a fake too.

I seriously hope not... then I'd have a few choice words for him... hypocrite being the most prominent one.

I don't care if they're "good looking girls"... they're a contributer to mainstream garbage... and Prince is SO above them.

OMG I so agree with you, they are talented dancers but as singers they are horrible. I would be disappointed if he would support them or any other mainstream garbage bands!.

All the best, Suzie

Prince is a host of contradictions and bullshit. I wouldn't put it past him. The operative word is pussy.

Ok I just clicked on the link. An album featuring both Timbaland and Prince? I don't think this is real.

Nicole used to be in Eden's Crush and Prince produced a track on their album entitled "Glamorous Life."

I believe this. Actually, the Pussycat Dolls were in my town a few days ago (Louisville, KY - Nicole Scherzinger's hometown) and my ex had the chance to go backstage and meet them. He said during the show, there were bits of Prince's music mixed in with their songs, and he got the chance to ask Nicole about Prince... he said she just smiled.

I don't see a problem with Prince doing a track for mainstream bands. Prince isn't anti-mainstream, he is interested in mainstream success, he just approaches it by his own rules and doesn't (always) sacrifice his interests simply for mainstream acceptance. that isn't the same as being opposed to the mainstream or above it.

Prince doing a track for PCD is more of a testament to his legendary status and musical genius, not a degredation of it. it is Prince fans who are opposed to mainstream because they are attempting to portray an uncomforming image of themselves, not Prince. Prince doesn't need to portray that image, because he doesn't conform.

Nicole's old group did a cover of Glamorous Life, and she and P had a secret meeting not too long ago. It would make sense if this pans out, but it certainly isn't the best news ever.

The rest of the tracks look pretty blah. I like Fever and Big Spender, but something tells me they'll find a way to produce them to death.

Prince has attempted to portray a noncomforming image since day one.Thats why fans get a bit wound up when it is clear as he gets older he indeed is conforming.

And can the PCD really be considered a mainstream band ???

Can the PCD be considered a "band" at all? It really doesn't matter at the end of the day P could do a song with anyone he wants to. He will continue to breath and function without my respect.

the difference is it isn't just an image for Prince -- he actually does not conform. when you do not conform, of course your image is going to coincide with that. that isn't the same as fans perpetuating an image alone of themselves as non-comformists based solely on them being are Prince fans, absent of any real noncomformity. there is a HUGE difference between the two.

At this point in his career, I would full expect to see Prince do this sort of thing.... Be wheeled out for award shows and guest spots on other acts singles.

The PCD's are only doing a much tamer version of what Vanity 6 were doing 25 years ago after all.
