Crystal Ball is great but I'm telling you it's hard to say what is the best song so soon, you'll like something else in a little while!

i posted on hear a couple weeks ago that i'd just got CB and would listen to it on my drive to Chicago. so far i must admit, i'm underwhelmed. haven't listened to the acoustic truth disc yet. but first listen didn't impress me much. i can see why many trax didn't make albums.

same here. i still think "The Truth" may well be his best 90's album.

sure, "gold" and "come" feature some of his most brilliant tracks and
all but as far as albums go "The Truth" is imo his most consistant,
cohesive and genuine effort of the 1990's.

Wow u must have sky high expectations. I remember being overwhelmed by the 1st disc and then realizing I had 3 more to go. Shoot my mind was blown by the track "crystal ball" all by itself.

me too. i love listening to that album once in a while.

it's aged so well up until now. nod love the lyrics, the stripped
down vibe, the honesty of it. great great album.

The fact that it's not overproduced or gimicky makes it sound timeless. Oh, how I wish it would have had a proper release...

Anyway, that's enough about that. biggrin

yes. a different (the original) version of it was released on
the 1-800-NEW-FUNK compilation album.

it's a much nicer version imo, without that DMSR bit mixed in
to the song.

also lasts a bit longer on the original version (04:32 mins).

see if you can find it somewhere, it's a great track.

thumbs up!
