Do u hear the words that r coming out of my mouth?

Prince lyrics. We've known them and loved them for years. We jam to them in our cars, our homes and on our MP3 players. But, have you ever been in a real-life discussion with someone and they say something that triggers something from one of his songs to come out of your mouth?

Last night, I was in a supermarket, being rung up. I got some cash back, after paying.

The cashier, all of 19 years old (no offense, Org teens) full of self-importance said to me (as if he'd just saved my life or something):

"It's after 10 p.m. So, I shouldn't have given you cash back. But, because it's just after 10, I'll let you slide this time...."

I took my bags and money and, as I'm walking toward the door, I start mumbling some dialogue from "Movie Star":

"As much money as I spend in this lousy joint??? You need to be slapped!!!"

By the time I'm at the automatic doors of the supermarket, I'm chuckling... Because I haven't listened to "Movie Star" in years...

Oh this definitely warrants a thread, but I'd change the title...

"It all comes out in the wash... in time"

"Tourists...89 flowers on their back..."

"Shut up already... DAMN"

"There's Joy in repetition"

There R some others 2.
"He's a musician's musician..."

So, what else should he have given you instead of cash just because it´s after 10 pm ? I don´t get that.

Back to the topic...I bet the lyrics " U gave a dog a place to bone and now Ur ass is all alone" often spring to a lot of men´s mind when they find out they´ve been cheaten on by their girlfriends, or " I pay the rent in this raggedy muthafucka, and all you do is suck up food and heat !" in case they share a place with a not too hot looking girlfriend.
lol
" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I always pay a lot of attention to the first song I play when I get a new car. (I think it kind of "sets the tone" for the time I'll spend in it.)

Well, in February, the new car I got was same make as my last (since I liked it so much).

And the first song I played in it was..."Joy in Repetition" from the ONA set. cool

LOL. This happened to me just last night when I watching TV with the family. There was some commercial on, and this guy in it said "Stop the press!" And I'm almost sure, someone else said, "Who is that?!" I automatically thought Batman, and started singing "Stop, the press! Who is that? Vicki Vale. Vicki Vale. I like - BATMAN!" giggle

I do it all the time---especially, "And that says what?" And I actually say it aloud, not just think it. lol Yes, I'm a huge dork.

There is a commericial out right now that has two sales clerks and the one guy is quoting lines like "Stop the press. Who was that? Vicki Vale." While he's doing that a woman walks up and he stops, kind of embarassed. For the life of me I cannot remember what the commericial is for though...is that the same one you saw?

Um... I think that might be it. I'm not sure, because other than the Batman part, I don't remember much. I think there might of been a guy leaning on a filing cabinet or something...
