Imagine holding Planet Earth
In the palm of your hand
With no regard for your place of birth
Or claim to any land

The only thing between us now is the truth we understand
If Planet Earth was in the palm of your hand

50 years from now what will they say about us here?
Did we care for the water and the fragile atmosphere?

There are only 2 kinds of folk
And the difference they make
The ones that give
And the ones that take

Just like the countless bodies
That revolve around the sun
Planet Earth must now come into balance with the one,
That caused it all to be
Then we'll see His kingdom come,
So shall it be written, so shall it be sung

Imagine you could rid the Earth
Of anyone you choose
Which ones would you need the most
And which ones would you lose?

Do we want to judge another
Lest we be judged too?
Careful now... The next one might be you

So shall it be written, so shall it be sung

Imagine sending your first born
Off to fight a war
With no good reason how it started and what they are fighting for
And if they're blessed to make it home
Will they still be poor?

Pray for peace right now and forever more

smile ok.
God doesn't just tells me how much he "LOVE's" me, God shows me how much he "LOVE's" me. Both telling and showing "LOVE" means to "LOVE". They go hand in hand. You can't have one with out the other. Something is spoken, then followed by an action. That is

Metheny, Maiden, Isley, Summers,Duke, and Satriani, accents/phrasing all there, and incorporated into P's mix. The track pushes all the right buttons for me. PE is simply "righteous"!

have you heard the piano break in "Sailing" by Christopher Cross? It's vaguely similar musically.

you're serious? If you had a midi file of the melody of each of these parts and played them with the same basic piano voice/same speed to somebody off the street they might get them mixed up.

I hear nothing but pain in Cream. Not a song I listen to willingly. lol

And I'm glad people from all over the world have come to that conclusion. I have not, and I really don't care one way or the other, but I love that others are trying to hard to make me hear it.

I have to continue to agree with you. I knew the song but had not heard it in along time so I listened again and I just dont hear it...I'm gonna listen again this weekend

with this many people hearing it obviously its gotta be similar!

This song is the one thats stuck in my head most often (and its not the break either so I cant credit it to Barry!)

Hello Prince World! Love 'Planet Earth', great opener, got the feel of an epic,
as it builds from the gentle opening to classic Prince guitar at the end, and a dramatic close. Love the lyric too. God Bless the old genius!

I like the song, too. And I think it's perfectly placed as an opener.

The guitar solo is one of the most energetic he ever laid down in the studio, IMO.

It's okay sounding but his need to filter ecology through the light of "the one" annoys me. Plus this song forces you to think of Barry Manilow and thats not fair.

One of his better bombast songs. A grower for sure. I was thinking of the number of middle aged brits who sat down to read the paper and put this on to see what the fuss was over this Prince chap and go 'Turn that rubbish off, put Celine back on'

Could have taken a bit more time on the lyrics -- though not as tragic as Guitrar -- and edited some of the meandering middle out but great solo, if a bit bombastic.
No hard feelings.
