Prince Prince anymore? With his recent religious conversion he's done many strange things. Although Prince has always been a mystery heno longer cussing cause he considers it cursing God. ANd is he really into sex anymore.? I know he still does it but he doesn't seem to sing about it anymore. On The Musicology Tour her just says Dance Music Ugh Romance. Then the part about sleeping on the couch when he samg it "I wanna go down south(fastly gesutring no).....too Houston Texas" when he was in Houston and other southern cities. Wendy and Lisa say we've lost him. If the wild,mysterious,contraversialness has gone then we truely have. Working up a purple sweat. | |

When did they say that? They were performing at the Brits with him in 2006, and collaborated on PE a little I think...  Why have we lost him just because he doesn't swear or sing about sex so much, btw have you heard 'Turn me Loose'?! If Larry is the blame for Princes change, then I guess I am too. I have been praying for his life to be more Christ like since 198? something. It is a natural progression. Everyone should have seen it coming since he had been looking for the truth. The more you seek God, the more He reveals Himself to you. If you are seeking Him for His purpose in your life....guess what, your life will reflect that. I say, BRAVO PRINCE! Keep searching and it will all be straightened out. God is positive and that is what Prince's music has become, more worthy of the God he is serving. Those spiritually aware, you think about it, would you be positively nasty if you were aware that God and His angels were standing not near by but RIGHT next to you in your face while you disrespect yourself and Him with vulgarity? (OR have I said tooooo much)

SO he hasn't turned into a little choir boy saying hail marry's and confessing to priests?  People who have grown up tend to use less swear words. There is only so much you can say with cuss words. Using proper English you can say the same things but with soooo much more effect!He gets it! That's why the ladies love him...  | |

So true, and personally I'm glad he doesn't swear any more ... I wouldn't be taking my 5 year old to Dublin if I thought he was gonna get up and start singing You Sexy MF, and swear his head off It's the music that's important, he's the best live performer there's probably ever been, he doesn't need to swear to get our attention 
By the way he answered the question himself in an interview with Tavis Smiley in 2004. He said it begged the question 'Why do you want me to curse?' and that it probably said more about the other person than him. Selah!!! I love your post and agree with you 100%.However, when I listened to his very recent 'turn me loose' performance I was shocked to say the least. The lyrics sounded more like the old nasty Prince. That song sends a very conflicting message and has absolutely nothing to do with spiritual awareness or having respect for himself or God. It was completely inappropriate for a man his age and caliber. I wonder what made him regress like that. Some people might say that it's just a song, but Prince should be aware of the power that lies in the words of this song . love the one who is Love! | |

If you equate sex and cursing with Prince's musical identity, then you've failed as a Prince fan. I'm not suggesting that they aren't a part of the deal, but you might as well suggest he's not Prince anymore because he wasn't wearing Purple the other day.

I consider sex as something sacred, created by God so man and woman can become one, physically as well as spiritually. That wasn't at all my point when I said that Prince had regressed. There is a difference between enjoying sex in a private setting and boasting about it openly in a immature and vulgar way. I'd like to think of Prince as a mature enlightened human being and not a horny teenager who has the need to brag about his sexual skills. I wonder, would this issue be much of an issue if Prince himself didn't annouce that he was giving up cussing & singing certain songs? I think we would have noticed but he made it a big deal, so he is to blame for making all of this known and us talking about it often. If there was anytime where I wish Prince wouldn't have spoken about a certain topic, it would have to be that one. He opens himself up for looking like a hypocrite if he ever decides to do Sexy MF again. But then again, being a hypocrite has never stopped Prince before, why would it now? | |
