HORNY PONY: WHAT A COOL SONG!! Heard the 12" version recently....it is really cool, I love the humour in this song with the disapproving women looking at Prince!

I think this was originally intended for D and P but got replaced and consigned to a single instead... Great song It's older than that.... my 45 is from before PR IIRC. I bought it about the same time trying to get older stuff -- Just another Prince lovin, VW drivin, SuperMommy wannabe

I think this was originally intended for D and P but got replaced and consigned to a single instead... Great song There is no 12" Version... There was only one version of Horny Pony released. And yes, it was originally going to be on Diamonds and Pearls but was replaced by Gett Off. | |

I love when Prince rearranges the order of words like Yoda in order to make a rhyme work. This couplet in particular is one of my favorites:

I was agreeing with Boris that there was no extended or remix version of the song. Boris also said it was never on a 12" single when in fact it was. I was only pointing that out. I wasn't calling it a 12" version. Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for. | |

This was intended for D&P - it's even on the "album rap" on Push (and also on the lyrics for that song). It was replaced by Gett Off, but it looks like they just superimposed the new text instead of reprinting.

I'd forgotten that it was re-used on the UK Cream 12" (and I've got that 12" too!)... but yeah, it still doesn't change the fact that there is no "12 Inch Version" of the song. If you say that you're listening to the "12 Inch Version" of a certain song you are basically saying that this version is different to the 'regular' version (usually extended or remixed). If you are not claiming that the version you are listening to is somehow different to the regular version, then you are using the term incorrectly. [Edited 8/25/08 13:16pm] | |

It was a B-side twice: Gett Off and Cream. I have 'Cream' on 12', on the b-side there are 'Horny Pony' and 'Gangster Glam'. | |
