WAS PRINCE REALLY GOING TO SING ON JANET'S "LOVE WILL NEVER DO?" I read somewhere that Prince was going to sing the parts on "Love Will Never Do (Without You)" that Janet sings in a deep voice, but it never materialized. That would have been hot! I think they should still collaborate. A KISS ON THE LIPS IS BETTER THAN A KNIFE IN THE BACK

I've heard this rumor before, don't know if it's true. "I just woke up from a fuzzy dream....you never would believe the things that I have seen".

That would have been VERY interesting. I'm a Gay man who's PROUD to also be a Prince fan

Might have made it a more interesting song than the chorus-free borefest it is.

BOREFEST! How dare u! That's an awesome song with a sweeping chorus! To boot, it went to #1 and had an awesome video. A KISS ON THE LIPS IS BETTER THAN A KNIFE IN THE BACK

I don't think so. I get the feeling the JJ and TL wanted Prince to have nothing to do with any of janet's work.

P attended Janet's Velvet Rope party in London back in the late 90s, and it makes me wonder if they were looking to collabo back then A KISS ON THE LIPS IS BETTER THAN A KNIFE IN THE BACK

She was supposed to sing it with Johnny Gill. I can see why people thought Prince since the music sounds like Kiss a little bit.

I love the song the way it is. A male voice wouldn't have done it for me on that short verse. I like artists who do all the vocals themselves. Much respect!! Even more if they write em too. Gotta be good lyrics though.
