Just my Imagination

I've just heard this...SO beautiful, beautiful...I love the arrangement, and his guitar solo on this is sublime....anyone agree with me? razz The way that man plays guitar...it just still amazes me, talks to me, and moves me SO much... incredible!

I only heard it a few years ago, myself.

Even though it's on my iTunes at work, I can't listen to it there. My co-workers always want to know why I'm slidin' out of my chair, eyes rollin' back in my head.

It's embarrassing. disbelief

It's actually the only song I really listen from that performance. It's is amazingly beautiful. His guitar playing is otherwordly and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Sheila's drumming on it. Genesia, you are right! It is aural sex. I am definitely going to have to bite that one. You might need to get a copyright on that one. wink

I had a cass. tape when I was in 5th grade...one side was the black album and the other was live and it had Just my Imagination.....Just loved it...the guitar....

Love, love, love Prince's version of this song! What's funny is, I never paid much attention to this song, until I heard Prince singing it. Now every time I hear The Temptation's version of this song on the radio, I find myself turning it up a little louder to listen to it. I love this song a lot; great tune!

eye was just about 2 ask if it was that same song. eye have a cute funny memory with this song. While this song was plaaying, my 12 y/o nephews imagination was going. We were on the freeway and talking about that traffic, he heard us talking and he said 2 bad our car couldnt shrink and we could drive around all the cars and get in front of them eek. We started laughing and sang its just ur imagination running away with u. giggle giggle Hes so cute! giggle giggle

Ah... kids have amazing imaginations, and they're so funny sometimes. I like the Temptations, and always thought this song by them was nice, love the lyrics, but now that I've heard Prince's version...wow! cool razz

FLAC files play in Winamp and you can get a FLAC plug-in for Windows Media Player too !

It's the most circulated version as it is the best quality.

There are about nine live renditions of this song from the 87/88 period (mostly aftershow performances), but most are bad quality.

Then there is also the thing with intensity; the version recorded at Het Paard Van Troje (Small Club performance) is the most spectacular and sonic, when it comes to guitar playing and Prince's and his band's performance.

For instance, his performance of the song at Camden Palace (also 88) is much more a laid back jam with solo's by Dr Fink and Eric Leeds, and even a guest vocal spot by the then very young Mica Paris, who was spear heading the Neo Soul movement in the UK. Prince was very smitten with her voice. He offered her If I Love U 2nite, which she recorded for her second album.
