Prince's Hospital

Prince said during the Emancipation period that he going to open a hospital one day, if anyone remembers him saying that. Has anyone heard any news on that, or has Prince benched it?

Never heard about it, that would have been very interesting especially for me

I don't remember this ever being mentioned.

I remember it 2!! He announced that he was gonna open a hospital/school/day care center all under one roof and it was gonna b located in Minneapolis!!

It was even local headline news in the Star Tribune and the Pioneer Press at that time!! Then a couple of years later people were asking "Well then, Prince, where is this supposed project of yours??!!"

This was WAY before Manis' time!! It was during the Emancipation-era when he was married with Mayte!!!!

Yes, it was during the Emancipation era. He bought some land across from Paisley Park which was going to be used for the Hospital - I think it was meant to be a children's hospital. Anyway, I think he has since sold that land.

Yeah, talked about opening a school during the Emancipation, L4OA era. I believe this was documented on the Chris Rock interview on VH1?? Or one of the snippets for a VH1 show.

For the record, I do know the L4OA charity did much for kids, society and much of it not made aware to the public. I remember chatting with one of the people that worked for P and was involved with L4OA and her talking about the projects she worked on and felt like they made a difference.

P does some for make-a-wish foundation also, I remember him flying in a handicapped P fan to the Philly hit-n-run show and inviting her and mom to meet and greet, show and afterparty. P also invited them to Paisley also as I remember? Kind of cool of him, I know he paid all expenses: Flight, place to stay..etc..

Yeah, it was during the L4OA days... he was very inspired at the time, looking at all kinds of ways to better the community, and making a lot of inroads for the sake of peace, hope, and charity. Didn't last long. 2 or 3 years top.
