Can't We All Just Get Along?? It seems to happen everytime Prince releases and album. Half of the people on this sight start in with how Prince is "Ripping off his fans" and the other half starts in with "You got what he said you would get". Half of the people say "Prince is a washed up negative weenie who just doesn't cut it like he used to" and the other half says "Prince is the greatest pop musician that ever lived and you're lucky that he puts out music at all!"
With any disagreement there is an objective truth that is a little bit of both sides so why don't we draw that up as a statement right here and now: Prince is one of the greatest, washed-up, weenie pop artists of all time. We're lucky he's still around to put out albums even if he insists on ripping off his fans to do it. Non of us have ever really been treated fairly by Princes business ventures, but we must not care too much if we keep buying into them. We always get what he says he'll give an never an inch more. THERE WE HAVE IT. THE OBJECTIVE TRUTH. LOVE IT OR LUMP IT AND NOW SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT IT!  | |

I'd have many nuances to add (like I truly think Prince at least tries to give us things, to create a concept) but I do agree with you... But i don't feel ripped off and that's what counts!!! I have to say that I do NOT feel ripped off in any maner...and I even went all the way from UK to the Park for this years celebration.
I think it was a good deal - if it means I get to hear and pass the beat onto others then what loss is it of mine? Prince does not only make FINE music but his lyrics are mainly pure and next to God. What better to pass onto my daughter??? ***Love, understanding and respect for others... its the only way forward.*** | |
