Ah, c'mon...the best Prince "knock-off" will ALWAYS be Ready For The World's "Oh Sheila." There are still people who think Prince did that song about Sheila E!

I gotta second that. It was the first thing that popped into my head when I read the topic.

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I would say Fortunate or Untitled by D'Angelo. There is a new song on Usher's Confessions album that comes in my top 3 Prince knockoffs EVER. He tries 2 sound like P, and even the groove is very "The Beautiful Ones"-ish.

HUH? I wouldn't consider that 2 b a Prince KNOCK OFF. None of Face's work that I have seen is Prince-esque. Face is more Luther Vandross meets Aaron Neville.

Stevie Salas has two tracks on his new disc, "The Soulblasters Of The Universe" that ooze Prince & The NPG. They are "Static" & "Soul Ecstacy". Go to http://www.steviesalas.com to listen to samples. One of teh funkiest rock records of the year, hands down biggrin
