The whole idea of mashups is so 2001 and peaked with "Smells Like Booty". But I am curious to hear it anyway. off to Soulseek...
You better wake up, Stella. This is my town!

Good effort, but could easily been a GREAT effort.

Theres more than just making the mix and letting it loop constantly through the whole song.

Then again, I haven't put anythin out, so much respect to the producer here.

Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another

This is sad. DJ DangerMouse's project, The Grey Album, was a piece of art. It was a Concept. And a funky one at that. It moves ur head and ur body!

This guy totally dropped the ball. Whether its funk or not is beside the point. Jay Z is funky. Prince is funky. Duh. Putting them together aint all that hard. The Concept is whats hard.

Now, what we need is "2 Black" Jay-Z's Balck Album vs. Prince's Black Album. Now THAT's A Cocept! I wish I had the means, I'd have done it already. But cut it up. Use some artistry!

Thumbs up for this project! When Jay-Z's people (or Jigga himself) decided to release an all a-cappella promo version of "The Black Album," I bet they had no idea it would become such a huge deal. The Dangermouse "Grey Album" is great, and this "Purple Album" is very creative in my opinion. I'd love to hear several different versions of this. Would love to try it myself.

I've listened to some of it and I love it. I did download The Grey Album but in my opinion, the Beatles samples were too cut up. I like this better.

Hrmm... 2 Black... that sounds like a great idea.

If anybody can point me to the acapella version of Jay-z's version, I might give this a try.

i thought this was really sloppy and FAR from as well done as the grey album...

this sounds like a mess.. atleast on the grey album they took out the original music.. this is garbage.

i also think it would have been cooler to battle prince's black album instead of his hits...

I thought it was a pretty good effort. I like to hear what others would do in a situation like that (combining artists).
"'Prince is crazy' -- I knew what people were saying," he says. "When I became a symbol, all the writers were cracking funnies, but I was the one laughing. I knew I'd be here today, feeling each new album is my first."

there are, what, 17 dif versions of Jay's BLACK? this one is way-week in comparison to the others-----in comparison to the 100's of P trax that could have been cut into this (not to mention P's Black Album alone.)

----if the Purple is all i heard, then, yeah...maybe! but....you got Dangermouse & KB's & Paul Nice & RjD2's (almost) &.....&.....&.....&....&.....
