Ok, following the EWM "logic" for a moment and just looking at sales figures this would mean people like his new stuff at least 5 times more than his old stuff !!?!?!? pleeeezzzze get your act together...

hey, it's perfectly OK for u to dislike Prince recent output AND to post about it around here if u feel for (as long as u don't have anything better to do in your "real life" outside...) but for your own good: switch on your brain before posting childish arguments like above or U'll be the ORG-Clown til the end of days dunce

anway... I dunno why recordsales should be ANY argument for quality at all, I mean looking at the charts in recent years... come on! rolleyes

You just can't help it, can you?

are u chickening out? u didn't explain the logic in your argument yet. could it be there is none??

Based on my analysis, I believe the government faked the plane crash and demolished the WTC North Tower with explosives.
The South Tower, in a simultaneous but unrelated plot was brought down by actual terrorists.
Is it a deal?

I have no idea whatsover (since I stated I don't care about sales figures) ...and I still don't get your point neutral

your original comment was "Guess what? People want the old stuff" because VBOP hit No.1... still the numbers shipped of Musicology are way ahead of VBOP... we both don't have any statistics who exactly is buying the new or old albums, I mean lots of youngsters have some catching up to do, I also can imagine many teenagers buying BOTH albums at the same time.. I don't know.. and I don't care. But that's not the point.

rather lemme tell U sumthin' else: I absolutely DO NOT think Musicology is a masterpiece, no way... after a few weeks & spins to me it has some nice moments, some great ones and some tracks he could have kept in the vault forever... and no scecret here: you, me and almost everybody on this board agree that Prince's peak was years ago.....

...BUT...

I may be wrong but I am pretty sure that YOUR opinion about Musicology was written on the wall BEFORE you heard the album, true? be honest now... problem is you won't give ANY new Prince album a chance anyway, hell if he released SOTT today you would probably shit on this too. saying this of course this is YOUR problem ONLY cause YOU are the one who probably will miss out on some fine songs (past, present or future) which u might have enjoyed in a not so stubborn kinda way of thinking

so I guess we should leave it here, cause I won't get the sales argument anyway lol

My point is that the albums weren't released at the same time. The greatest hits album was released last year and is still doing well. When I go to the record stores, I see more people looking at the hits CD than Musicology. The general public likes the old Prince, not this shit.

Well I don't know what kinds of teenagers would have patience for Musicology.

Honestly, I totally gave it a chance and I have stated before that I liked Cinnamon Girl and A Million Days (though even those two are wearing thin). I don't have a prejudice against everything he does, I just don't like this slump that he's been in since the late 90's. I'd like for him to leave this crap begind and discover a new style that he hasn't spent much time on.
