i was thinking about how Prince's career kinda ended up mirroring the Purple Rain movie and sure enough i ran into this comment on amazon.com

Damn it...I was going to start a thread like this and you beat me to it...I thought about it when I went to the show in Columbia and saw how much fun he was having on stage...just like the "I Would Die 4 U/Bay I'm a Star" ending. For the last 10 years or so, we have all been symbolic "Billy Sparks", shaking our head and saying "Noone likes your music but yourself". Prince plays "Purple Rain" (Grammys) everyone loves him again and now he's up there shaking his booty and we're all clapping along like Appolonia, showing him that we are wearing that earring he gave us again because all is forgiven...

Okay maybe I've thought about this a LITTLE TOO MUCH...

Right down to the touching moment between him and Wendy.


Just hope that the sequel's better this time around.

I've thought this FOR YEARS....it's almost scary how his life ended up just like that movie..particularly the fight between him and wendy and lisa over their input into the music.

It's is kinda creepy but it's the truth isn't it? I love where things are now.
