Musicology or Starfish And Coffee. I pick Musicology. The simple symbolism of the one note horn chart represents the downtroddin masses, and their war agains the powerful state.
Starfish And Coffee just makes no sense. Like, who would eat starfish--and with syrup, for Gods sake! You have that pain in the ass harp sound. Reminds me of the worst Kenny G twaddle. Musicology has the deepist lyrics I think Prince will ever write. Starfish And Coffee is just a muddle. Was Prince drunk at the time? Musicology is very original, as well. I have never heard a horn based song like that ever. Starfish sounds like stuff you hear on Clearchannel all the time. I could imagine them playing this at a womans prison, to scare the inmates. Musicology may be Prince's best song ever. I'd make everyone listen to it at gunpoint, if I could. All you others say Hell Yea!!  | |

Starfish is a great summer song with tons of fun, Musicology is a barely decent song with no hook. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

You do have a point about "Starfish And Coffee" 's lyrics but so what? 95% of lyrics are garbage, including Prince's.
