What tribute? Do you mean the recent Hendrix tribute album?

Here's a connection: Janie Hendrix, Jimi's stepsister who is in charge of the Hendrix estate, is married to EW&F's guitarist.
This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Yes,Janie Hendrix is married to guitarist Sheldon Reynolds, but unfortunately,he is no longer a member of EW&F.He was let go by the band a few years ago,and he is sorely missed. In addition to playing guitar,he used to handle the lead vocals on songs like "After The Love Has Gone" and he did a really, really good job. Many fans were disappointed when he was fired from the band.

This is one of my favorites from the album - and I think it's a great tribute album! I bought it for Prince, Sting and Clapton's tracks, but I listen to the album a lot. Love Bootsy's take on Power Of Soul too.

And I find myself putting Purple House on repeat a lot, too, considering I really didn't expect much from it as a Rave-era recording with Larry G. on bass. I actually really love the track, though - I put it on a compilation disc with the recent one-off downloads from NPGMC.

I personally think it is very good, as is the whole album. I don't get why people dissed Prince's effort....some folks just have too high expectations or something...
