For those who want a taste of the Roison Murphy and Herbert Collaboration.

Sequins is the first of three highly limited lushly packaged vinyl editions from the dream linkup of Roisin 'Moloko' Murphy and Matthew 'Food' Herbert. Four tracks feature here with contributions from members of the Matthew Herbert Big Band. 'Ruby Blue' starts out with a discordant rock rave stab from Matthew before Roisin's pointed, colourful and so soulful vocals drop into this mad fun track with a dark centre. 'Off On It' takes a breathe after the prior attack. The horn work of Pete Wraight, Trevor Mires and Dave O'Higgins ride alongside the repetitive guitar throbs, rumbling bass backing and Roisin's seductive, world weary and woozy lyrics - just lovely but still a bit mad and dangerous as you'd expect. 'Night Of The Dancing Flame' feels similar to 'The Many and The Few' from the MH Big Band album with Roisin replacing Mr Lidell, crazy one of a kind type music previewed a while ago by Mr G.Peterson now available to us mere mortals. Finally for this installment is 'Through Time' bringing in Phil Parnell on fender rhodes piano and Max De Wardener on bass next to some more mad sound effects and freeform jazz waltz riddims in a crazy time signature. A near perfect realisation of what I've always wanted from a Moloko/Herbert collaboration, can't wait to hear all the tracks together come summer time when the full CD album will drop. Spot gloss artwork sleeve with full colour inner sleeve with lyrics and die cut hole punch sequins. Limited to 500 copies only - breathtaking.

You can listen to samples here. music http://www.boomkat.com/it...?id=16133#

I really can't wait for this release. drool

Ooh! Trippy jazzy electronica. Just heard the samples. I think I'll be buying the album when it comes out.

I don't have a turntable, so I'll have to wait for the collected EPs on CD.

I'm suitably impressed though.
