The Beekeeper...an alternate view!

I really enjoyed tori's lastest offering but...the album is too long. It's on my opinion the first tori album to have some filler songs. this is not a bad thing actually...

the beekeeper suffers the malady from being to long and loses some of dramatic crescendos that certain other album have.

This maybe because Tori wanted to fill the whole 80 minutes with music (good one in my opinion).

I made an alternate tracklist of this album and i think the songs that where cut out would be incredible bee sides.

Here's my alternate beekeeper tracklist:

Parasol
The Power of Orange Knickers (featuring Damien Rice)
Barons of Suburbia
Sleeps with Butterflies
Ribbons Undone
Cars and Guitars
Witness
Original Sinsuality
Ireland
Hoochie Woman
The Beekeeper
Garlands

also I think it's time to discuss the album, because it's been out long enough...

I also have to have that I consider this a very masculine album opposite to scarlet's way femenine descriptive aproach!

This pic would also be a great alternate cover:

Yeah, but many of the songs you mentioned are my least favorite Tori songs EVER!
Ribbons Undone-annoying backing vocals
Parasol,The Power of Orange Knickers,Sleeps With Butterflies-boring
Cars and Guitars,Ireland-hurts my ears
I DON'T WANT TO BE NORMAL,because normal is part of the status quo, which I don't want to be a part of- Tori Amos

i have to respectfully disagree with you...sort of. i can understand the idea that the record is too long, i even said the same thing myself when it first came out. i think all the songs are very good while some are excellent and some are even the best of her career. i'm shocked that you left marys of the sea off of your tracklisting; its one of her best songs, imo. considering some of tori's best songs have been b-sides, i don't think using some of these as such would be a bad idea. sugar, honey, mary, upside down, cooling, apollo's frock, sister janet, daisy dead petals...these were all b sides and they are all great tori tracks. if i had to level the cd off a little it would look like this:

Original Sinsuality
The Beekeeper
Parasol
The Power of Orange Knickers
Barons of Suburbia
Sleeps With Butterflies
General Joy
Witness
Hoochie Woman
Mother Revolution
Goodbye Pisces
Marys of the Sea
Ribbons Undone
Toast

Sweet the Sting & Jamaica Inn would be the B side to Sleeps With Butterflies
Orange Knickers (Solo Piano Version) and Garlands would be the B side to Orange Knickers - yes, i would release that as a single!
Martha's Foolish Ginger and Mother Revolution (Live at Chicago) would be the B side to Mother Revolution
Cars and Guitars and Ireland would be the B side to Goodbye Pisces

but that's only if i HAD to change the cd from the way it is now. honestly, i think its a great record. her most sincere and honest since choirgirl!

The Beekeeper has a few songs too many. Even though I like all of the songs on the record (which is a first for me) I think the album could be tighter if she ditched Ribbons Undone and Witness.

This is a perfect 13 track version which flows beautifully:

Parasol
Original Sinsuality
Mary's Of The Sea
Jamaica Inn
The Power Of Orange Knickers
Martha's Foolish Ginger
Barons Of Surburbia
The Beekeeper
Sweet The Sting
General Joy
Sleeps With Butterflies
Goodbye Piscies
Toast
