Kanye West just went off on President Bush

I'm watching the telethon for the hurricane victims on the Gulf Coast, and Kanye West went off on how the media portays the black victims as looters while portraying the white victims as desperate. Then he talked about the war and yelled, "George Bush doesn't care about black people!" before the camera switched away.

sad mad

good for kanye! this may be the first high-profile razzing of the president since the whole dixie chicks mess...only this time, we're healed enough from 9/11 and bushy's approval ratings are low enough that kanye can probably get away with saying what he said...hell, it'll probably be an even bigger boost for his career! good for him.

Yeah i agree with the statement, but this is nothing new, for Kanye to just have noticed this is crazy. I also can guarantee that if this was a "terrorist" attack that happend in New Orleans, rather than a Hurricane, relif and aid and action would have come alot quicker.Everyone talks shit about "pulling" together after 9/11 but that was bullshit, we are all about "ME" in this country and Kanye and alot of other celebs are all "ME ME".BUT my problem with the "celeb" mindset is that they always "have" the telethon and then make a statement, right around a time when they have "product" on the market. This is why most of the world hates us, and rightly so, we are such a double standard. We all talk a good game but if someone said tomorrow u have to go to New Orleans and help pick up debris, or help hand out water bottles, we would be like "no, i cant, i cant get away from work, or some other excuse. So what do we as a country do, we "THROW" money at a Problem, the People in New Orleans would rather seeing "FACES" down there showing that they care rather than hearing a Bunch of Rich people did a telethon or concert and Honestly this shits never works anyway. So if Kanye or GreenDay or any other so called "activist" wants to prove that not only they can "talk" a good game, get off your ass and go to New Orleans and Physically Help.

"We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

Kanye would've gotten away with it anyway....regardless of Bush's approval rating. Chances are that most of his fans are against Bush. Dixie Chicks should've known better though.....country music.....native Texans. They asked for it. lol

Ye picked the right forum.
Of course he was nervous, because he said it from his heart in a scripted world.
Ye will be banned from NBC, but I doubt he gives a fuck.
Ye is only expressing what a large percentage of the folks is feeling in NOLA.

I wouldn't go that far....If the "liberal" media pays enough attention to this, they will do anything they can to sink him. I can just hear the comments coming from the Fox News offices:

"He was OK when he was talking about Jesus, but this won't do."

I'll give him credit for the comment but I'm still not buying that CD. I thought about it, tough.

This just happened so he hasn't quite gotten away with it but the timing is "good" (that sounds terrible, doesn't it). Bush numbers are so low and this New Orleans disater proves that he is either a terrible leader. Keep in mind this just happened and it probably helped that it happened over the weekend. Fox and others will go after him! All of Kanye's talk might finally catch up with him just for say something bad about almighty Bush....

Yeah the media's gonna be after him for sure, but he won't lose his fanbase like the Dixie Chicks. I mean those fans were boycotting them, tossing their albums out, country stations pulled them from the airwaves. Their fans turned Anti-Dixie Chicks after that.

YOu know....maybe if he had some songs that had original music and weren't just the result of a good record collection I could get into his music.

i'm sorry- whether mr. west is right (which i believe he is) or wrong, this is not the place to start this fight. how about helping those who need help? this isn't his platform- it's theirs. people who go on national television and play the race card in situations like this obviously have nothing pertinent to add to the situation. you want to say it on an album? please do. in an interview? absolutely. again, i agree with him. bush is an asshole- but don't take the focus off of those starving and dying due to a national disaster to say something off topic.

Something tells me he could sell out the Superdome in a second..

It's the damn fucking truth. They had years to completly secure those areas. They cut the flood relief budget and you see what ppl got it the worst.

This motherfucker is moving 800,000 week and he just don't give a fuck. Black ppl need to stop supporting people like 50, cause 50 will kill a poor hapless negro in a second, yet I bet you that motherfucker wouldn't say shit about a white man with power. Gangsta my ass!!!!! 50 needs to get fucking washed to sea. WTF is it gonna take for these Black Hip-hopers with voices to stand up?????
