New Cyndi Lauper CD "The Body Acoustic"

It's mostly acoustic versions of her hits, featuring duos with such varied artists as Sarah McLachlan, Jeff Beck and Shaggy!!!

thumbs up!

Great CD!!

Plus, I've just received her 2001 aborted Shine, now re-released by Sony Japan with 13 tracks...

Cyndi hasn't lost any piece of her voice.
The Body Acoustic offers a GH with total new arrangements

So underrated mad

Love her wink

so this is one of the CDs that has been pulled due to the spyware/anti-piracy software? I'm certainly glad I didn't buy it immediately as I had planned!

I loves me some Cyndi big time, but I really wish she'd put out a new album, instead of another Greatest Hits package every few years. "At Last" was okay, but I far prefer her original stuff.

I listened to these tracks a couple of years ago, I got amazed by Waters Edge. It's such a beautiful song, and her voice is like a night whisper that chills my bones. How I wish she were recognized once again. She is still doing great albums, but no-one seems to care... And every-one is so up to hip-hop in USA that it hurts!!

I just played Shine, which did not 'speak' to me immediately. Maybe I need to listen closer.

And now I just put on The Body Acoustic... and just the first song speaks volumes! I love her voice, it ages as intriguingly as joni Mitchell's. I love it getting deeper.

More later on.

Ive not listened to any of Cyndi's new stuff in years and years so i cant really comment on it, but I listened to this CD and really enjoyed it. However All Through The Night has always been my favourite song of hers, and it was butchered by Shaggys intervention sadly. Apart from that i give it a thumbs up.

I do think the music world needs a Cyndi Lauper comeback, but not having heard her last offerings im not sure what the quality of her stuff is like (is it commercial enough etc etc).

I kinda love that. Hate Shaggy normally, but like his inclusion her.

The entire album is really strong. Totally works for me.

Saw her perform in Cleveland a couple weeks ago . Amazing show! shes 52 years old and is rolling around on the stage jumpimg up and down , dancing , running out in the crowd and standing on chairs.

I just hope I have half that energy at 42.

Shes a true artist and doesnt get the credit she deserves for her post 80's stuff.
