PETA AMBUSHES BEYONCE: Superstar Singer/Actress Confronted at Dinner Table.

*Thursday night in Manhattan Beyonce, her mother Tina and sister, Solange Knowles, were having dinner at Nobu restaurant with two people they thought were just winners of an eBay auction for VH1's Save the Music Foundation.

Turns out the "winners" had a hidden agenda; they were members of People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). Talk about being ambushed and set up! The whole incident or at least 3 minutes of it was captured by PETA on tape, which was obtained by TMZ.com.

Shortly after everyone placed their orders, the PETA members started in on the Knowles with small talk about their use of fur in the House of Dereon clothing line. It grew from there. Poor Beyonce never saw it coming.

Before the PETA members were escorted away, they went even further and pulled out a portable DVD player and began playing a tape of Pamela Anderson's attack on the fur industry, which highlights graphic footage of the process of killing animals for their fur. It was at that point that you hear Tina Knowles telling them to get out. Meanwhile Beyonce is seen just sitting there totally stunned or pissed.

People who support the brutal slautering of animals for such a petty thing as fashion or anything else deserve whatever shit they get. You truely can not understand the deep sadness and anger those animal activist feel until you watch the footage of what happens to the animals, and see the pure cruelness and torture they endure. I would of hoped for something far worse to happen to Beyonce and all people that support this, they need a wake up call.

ok, i'm not even gonna read the responses to this thread because i already know what they're going to be ("i'm gonna eat a steak now", "people are more important than animals", blah blah blah, SO original).

that said, once again, PETA fucks it all up.

what would i have done? i would have had an intelligent conversation with beyonce and her family about my concerns, and i would have politely let her know that i spent $XXX to win this auction for the purpose of having this conversation. no cameras. no "ambush". no publicity stunt.

when PETA pulls these stunts, they polarize people. that's not what's going to improve animal welfare (notice i said WELFARE, not RIGHTS). when PETA gets it through their thick, extremist, ridiculous skulls that advocating for people to do just a LITTLE to live a cruelty-free life leads to a lot more improvement than DEMANDING that everyone live 1,000% by their standards, THEN maybe they'll make a difference.

i say screw PETA. and i'm an 18-year vegetarian.

ANX...that is a very important point. You're right "activist type" behavior can really turn people off and then you don't get the point because they annoy you.

i don't mind activism or even extremism, but you have to consider what effect your actions are going to have. i don't think PETA cares. i think they truly believe that any publicity for them is good publicity, and the more over the top and extreme they are, the more it helps the animals. and they're wrong.

they.

are.

wrong.

and it pisses me off, because with all the money and attention they get, they could actually be doing a lot of POSITIVE things for their cause.

when i support animal welfare organizations, i support the ASPCA. they're not as glamorous, but they seem to actually care about animals more than showbiz.

also, this is the kind of stunt that ruins it for the REAL fans. if i were beyonce's management, i wouldn't want to put her with any "common folk" who claimed to be fans. this kind of thing just reinforces the concept of popular artist as something other than human.

I'm gonna eat a hamburger later on today and this weekend I'm gonna have shrimp and lobster while wearing my fur speedos, and I may even throw in some tuna that was probably fished at the expense of a few dolphins.

Now, if these fuckers weren't meant to be "eaten" then God shouldn't have put them so damn low on the fuckin' food chain. lol razz lol

PETA's not in it for the education. Those assholes are in it for the sheer cruelty, all they want is an excuse to be mean to people. They don't give a FLYING FUCK about animals.
